If everyone still feels that the topic of TM Possession on GB's needs discussion, which I personally feel is a dead horse, then start a new thread. This one has been HIJACKED!!
I don't think a GB of any level has a chance against a competent mage, let alone a maxed out 15th level one. I will grant the GB has range and damage, but the mage's spells negate those advantages and when the mage gets close enough, the fun can begin in any number of ways.
Somewhere in the middle of the thread it was decided that the LLW would probably win. So people started putting other classes up against the GB in the same scenario.
Lvl 15 Ley Line Walker vs. Little girl with a laser pistol
LLW standing there minding his own business, little girl walks up and draws pistol. LLW loses init, little girl shoots him at point blank range, does minimum damage and instantly kills the LLW.
Little girl then walks up to GB, GB loses init, little girl shoots him doing maximum damage. GB laughs it off and blows little girl to shreds. End of discussion, tech wins.
Strait on fight the GB wins hands down. If the LLW has time to prepare the right spells and steps into the playground the LLW is going to get to walk away with a couple million credits for some bling bling.
Norbu the Enchanter: Hello friends! What brings you to my shop today?
Big Joe: We need some things enchanted to take a beating...
Norbu: Perhaps you want your weapons enchanted? Or maybe a shield or sword? I can even enchant armor!
Big Joe: We need you to enchant this Liver, this heart, and these kidneys.

Only if you assume the LLW isn't wearing his MDC armor that being even a first level LLW gets him.

well he does have an over inflated view of the superiority of tech... And its pretty obvious to anyone from that post that he has no clue what mages do and do not get or what they can and cannot do.

And that differs from over-inflated views on magic how? Both are inadequate depending on the circumstances. The LLW as noted would be an easy kill, especially from someone he didn't perceive as a threat to have defenses up. He's not going to be wearing artificial armor all the time as suggested after all, making him as vulnerable as any other character when off-guard and unprepared.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

Neither is the GB gonna live in his armor but the quoted scenario implies that. Its Easy to claim one is superior to the other when you weight the scenario like that.

The difference being that the LLW is considered to always have his powers/spells available, you can only consider that with the GB pilot by considering those situations when he's actually in the GB.

no... If you place one as unprepared and unarmored then the other has to be just the same. To claim that the GB gets the benefit of his power armor but the LLW does not get even the benefit of "standard issue" gear is weighting the experiment to achieve the outcome you desire. Must be a statistician running that experiment.

Given that this is happening near a leyline with a level 15 leyline walker. There is bound to be some magical mayhem. There is no telling what imagical items teh LL has collected over his experiences and travels that will make the GB go through hell just to survive. In the end, the GB PA stats aren't different from day one, with a few minor mods to be sure. Bonuses increase for sure, but the LL is more likely to have come across or even make talismans, rune weapons or heck even a phase beamer
