What do we know about World Within Worlds??
I'm curious about Dr. Lazlo's masterpiece.
How many pages is the book?
Is it a large coffee table sized hardcover or a paperback?
How illustrated is it?
Being popular in the 80's, how relevant is Dr. Lazlo and his work today?
What are it's contents?
Is there any supplemental information on WWW in any Rifters or BTS2?
Also, what did Dr. Lazlo look like?
Did he wear tweed or bad 80's fashions?

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
As for dr Lazlo I always pictured him in tweed with a briar pipe...
My understanding is that his books including world with in worlds, are still papuler and there is some limited acceptance now of his theories and ideas. at least in the lab closet any way. so yeah his book is still in print still being read the Lazlo agency is still making royalty off the book sales. Most pcc's more then likely own a copy of that if not hes other books. any one interested in the study of the unexplained would use his work and metheads as a bench mark for there own offerets. you can more then likely get it in collectors hard bound hard bound paper back and mass media paper back posably on audio and E-format. The Lazlo agency still owns the copy right for anther 40 some years depending on when it was first copy righted and some of the people at pbs whom publish books will understand that better then I do. as to how many pages it is, I have no idea. though of pb decides to publish a work of fiction/companion source books World with in Worlds would be what I would like to see. I know it would all be fluff but I would dearly love to read the book that All of my bts characters has owned and read many times

I wonder how relevant the Lalzo Society and his book would be in these modern times, with the plethora of supernatural themed radio and cable tv shows, as well as the many podcasts out there?
I guess it's up to the individual GM's out there.

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
that's true.....
my take form the book is it is vary relevant and his theories have held up over time. The problem with most of the paranormal shows out there is most of them get it wrong, or are not near as comprehensive. not sure how long it is but it is porbly fairly thick. rember his published work mostly deals with tharie. in short it would still be a good place to start in your studies... just as Books like the Golden bough is still releavet in the study of magic trudtions and better then a lot of newer sources

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
a great source book of fluff. a collected works of lazlo.. use fluff to explaine game mechanics that would sound like some real mystic mumbo jumbo

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
I wonder what happened to all of Lazlo's research and notes?
That alone could be an adventure.
Plus whatever happened to his manservant, companion or whatever he was?
Oh I forgot to mention I finally got BTS2...in my 2nd grab bag. Need to read it still.

I haven't read much...just skimmed, but the Supernatural ISP Proximity Rules are really innovative.

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
I think that the adventure about finding Lazlo's research notes is an excellent suggestion. If there are notes, one would think that they are in the Lazlo Agency's library. If some are missing or stolen, both the Agency and the Court of Tarot would want those notes. You should write that up as a plot for the adventure hook thread, MCD.
As for Worlds Within Worlds, I think there was another piece of it in Mystic China. My books are packed away today, and I just don't want to take the time to unpack them. The book was printed many times, so it probably saw both hardcover and softcover editions -- and now ebook and audio book versions. Victor was pictured in an illustration in Rifts: Africa, but he is seen wearing a flight suit for a New German Republic robot. I always thought of him dressing like a newscaster in subdued suits and ties, but now I am totally digging the idea of Victor Lazlo exploring the Megaverse while wearing 80s clothes with a popped collar.

Egads...I never knew Lazlo got Rifted into the Rifts setting. I went to my local game store and found his entry...he looks like a bad hombre. I originally pictured him as a scholarly old professor type with a tweed jacket with leather patches on the elbow. But from the pic in the Africa book, yeah I can see that Lazlo sporting a purple, popped collar Izod, a grey Member's Only jacket and a gnarly mullet. Or perhaps the Miami Vice deconstructed linen suit....the mullet stays though.

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
also keep in mind his hair cut and clothing changed by the time you see him in Rifts Africa or is it the NGR.. any way, My room mate always saw him as dressing for what he was doing like Indiana Jones... when doing a lecture he would have worn tweed and a tie its posable even evening cloths... When out in the field I think jeans and any where form a cotton shirt to sweaters, to jackets and coats

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
Maybe Palladiumbooks can make a BtS,s Adventures sourcebook that explore what Vic Lazlo,s adventures before he gor Rifted.
It can be only 50 pages,I think it,s not to big

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
That would be nice, but who would write it? Kevin has mentioned in interviews that he prefers sourcebooks to use the World Book approach -- a mixture of adventures, setting, character classes, and new stuff (like equipment, monsters, & skills). If you can fit that into 50 pages, G, maybe you should submit a proposal.

Re: What do we know about World Within Worlds??
That is the thing well Rifts, and pf could use world books. how much world info do we really need for bts. we have a lot of world info that is already out there. not saying that more monsters would be a bad idea or that there is not ways to flush it out the bts mythos but I tend to use real life mythos in my games. I just try to do a better job of it the Hollywood
