It has been one of those days

Unread post by Kevin »

Today has been one of those days.

You know, all topsy turvy. A little good, a little bad, and ALL crazy.

Last night, Palladium was having a much needed stellar night of online sales. Overnight, however, sales were surprisingly light. Turns out something happened to the Palladium website (a hacker attempt is suspected) and our home page appeared as a total blank with no apparent links to the store or forums. Undoubtedly, this hurt sales for the remainder of the night. A shame.

The quick fix was a temporary page that linked people to the Palladium Store and the Forums. By 3:00 PM this afternoon we were up and running, again.

Then the store went down. :(

This is a totally unrelated event as our store has a completely different host. The host knows about the problem (it is a system-wide event for them) and will have it fixed as soon as possible.

But how long will that be? A few hours? 24 hours?

Gaaahhh. This is one of the big last days for people to order the Christmas Surprise Package and/or other Palladium products for Christmas. There couldn't be a worse time for these kinds of online glitches. And, of course, the store is totally out of our control.

Remember, you can always call the office to place an order (734-721-2903) – operators (Alex, Julius and Wayne) are standing by. ;)

If I had any reservations about extending the Christmas Surprise Package offer they are gone after this. I don’t want people to miss out on the offer so I will extend it past Christmas. Full details will be in the Thursday Weekly Update. Sheesh.

The rest of the day went pretty much the same.

My doctor’s appointment went much longer than expected, so I got to work late and had to hustle all day long.

We had a zillion Surprise Packages to process (awesome!), plus a distributor sent in a small restock order (cool). We got it ALL packed up and shipped out this afternoon, but it was a gut-buster of a day.

Meanwhile, I’ve been juggling all kinds of business, which has been a mix of fun and fixing problems. And I still need to assign the Rifter® #57 artwork, finish Rifts® Lemuria and send out PR copies of the last 3 books to most freelancers.

A fun and positive surprise was getting a massive box from artist Michael Wilson that contained 35 pounds of artwork donated to Palladium to give away in Christmas Surprise Packages and sell to help Palladium continue to get strong and on its feet. Wow. We were blown away by Mike Wilson’s generosity. Thank you so much, Mike.

There was other stuff going on too, but nothing cosmic and I need to get back to work.

My apologies for any trouble and disappointment you may have had trying to place online orders since sometime late last night through today. Very frustrating, I know. Hopefully, everything will be resolved very quickly. YOU HAVE NOT MISSED OUT ON THE SURPRISE PACKAGE – I will extend the offer for an additional amount of time.

Game on and have a wonderful holiday. Even I am planning to take the Weekend and Monday off from work (doctor’s orders). You’ll hear more from me in the Thursday Weekly Update, and probably before Christmas, but I’ll still say it now . . .

Ho, ho, ho and Happy Holidays. Keep those imaginations burning bright and game on!

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
