Is it possible under normal circumstances to make a called shot while blind?

In my game I have ruled that you cannot without the aid of magic, psionics or other extrapolating circumstances but I'd like to be sure.

I don't see why you couldn't. It's like making a shot in basketball with your back towards the hoop.

There is going to be heavy penalties - whatever the penalty for being blind is in addition to the called shot penalty, in addition to any other penalty such as if the target in question is small and hard to hit. You're looking at probably a -15 or more to hit.

I would let em try it.

Sure, it's called a natural 20

If someone was blind and they were trying to make a called shot, I would let them try, but the only way I would let it succeed is with a natural 20.

No. Being blind/blinded is a -10 penalty.
W/o magic, psi, chi, or other senses to know your surroundings, you can't even know if you are shooting in the right direction.

It was an NPC robot that had had its sensors destroyed fighting a party using cover and constantly moving around. I thought it was smart and ruled since it couldn't know where they were it couldn't make the called shot and so constantly tried closing into melee.

It was only later I realized it wouldn't be able to determine which direction it was getting hit from because it had no sense of touch.

minimum called shot is base 12. blind is a -10 penalty. not only that it would be a wild shot at best so thats another -6 (unless that is accounted for in being blind but I would rule they stack). Yeah natural 20 is the only way since a natural 20 is always a successful strike.
