How much does a bionic arm cost?
I have been through the bionics sourcebook forwards and backwards and I still can't seem to find it. Is it seriously not listed?
Note: Not looking for cybernetic, or bio-system arm, but a bionic arm. With no mods, or extra armor, ect. What's the base price? Book and page reference would be appreciated.

Good guess, but wrong. That is a cybernetic arm. I am looking for the cost of a bionic arm. Two different things.

Yes, thats it! Thanks. It is plainly a reprint from HU, and never made it into RUE or the bionics sourcebook. Gotta love Palladium's cut and paste jobs sometimes. I'm glad I kept my Rifts collectors edition hardback.
Just had a player blow his arm off setting an MD shape charge, and he needs a new one. (Rolled a 100% on his demolitions skill )

I would have killed the character.....

I treated it as a Nat. 20 to strike, so I did double damage to him. 2d4x10 rather than the normal 1d4x10. His armor absorbed most of the blast, but not all.

So if your a Demolitions character make sure you're also Invulnerable to physical and possibly energy then (Major Super Ability in Skraypers, Werebeast, Vampire, etc.).
If something makes the RPG experience better that's great. If not don't use it.
If not overly informative hopefully it was at least mildly amusing. Munchkin Clown Away! <fwoosh... honk, honk>

I don't coddle my players, and they know it. Once a player rolled a nat 1 to throw a cobalt limpet mine at something, and along with his post was an in post PM: "Oooops. That can't be good. Maybe time for new character?" The player was right on because the explosion cooked off the rest of the ordinance he was carrying (more mines, some grenades. etc).
As a player, when I screw up such a roll I expect my character to be killed.

Harsh, but fair. I'm a big fan of being realistic about a character's mortality.
I just replied to thank you guys for this thread. I'm making a one-legged Vagabond character who's saving money for a bionic replacement, and had no idea how many credits he had to save. Thanks again!
EDIT: Just wanted to also add that I was surprised the this omission wasn't covered in the errata. :/
I gave my wife 5 rules for decorating our place: No Bows, No Pink, No Flowers, No Birds, and No Unicorns.
I later found out Unicorns are Mega Damage.
Now there are 4 rules.

Re: How much does a bionic arm cost?
I just wanted to add that the prices listed on RMB pg. 239 may not be too accurate. It states in the Bionic Sourcebook that a Partial Conversion costs "in the low millions" while Full Conversion is much more, though no specific prices are given.
RMB's pg. 239 lists Full Conversion as costing only $900,000.
Maybe the prices of individual Bionic limbs should just be a multiple of the Bio-System price, maybe at double of triple the price, no?

I dont know why you dont just use the rules in the bionic HB. According to the "rules" the difference between a cybernetic and bionic limb is its stats. If its starts are over X and MDC its considered bionic.

Ack. Problems are worse than I thought for the Scandinavian Alliance, the snippets we've seen say they are plagued with a Werewolf problem that keeps them too busy to provide much more than shipbuilding pointers to the NGR. Now I see why they are such a problem, nigh invulnerable melee rippers with explosive strapped to them.. or worse yet: explosive reactive armor.glitterboy2098 wrote:random_username wrote:So if your a Demolitions character make sure you're also Invulnerable to physical and possibly energy then (Major Super Ability in Skraypers, Werebeast, Vampire, etc.).
