Hey guys,
So i had an idea recently, my group and I have a home of sorts we have a building that we rent and we call our own.
I love this because it allows us to build relationships with the city were in and for me this is very important because my character is a giant monster and it allows trust to be built.
My idea is i want to buy an Inn/Tavern something to make a bit of money and allow for different game play and different problems.
My issue is i have NO idea where to find land prices and building prices?
Is there a resource or should we just discuss it as a group and come to some house rules?
Thanks for any input guys.

No specific land or building prices that I'm aware of, closest I can think of is secret base guidelines for Heroes Unlimited in one of the Rifters. Any real answer would stem from most important thing: location, location, location. Setting, how sought after the location is, where in the game world it is, and the status of the local economy. You might just need to secure a small plot against the wilderness along the trade road passing by a simple village, to securing permission from a local lord, to getting business permits, a loan, and fork out for a good location downtown. So, it can vary a lot.

Find a tyrant, smash in his head, take over his lair in the city and rebuild/redecorate. The adventure where real estate agents (or the antagonists lawyers) show up and tell you that you're squatting and you just can't take an evil dictators lair and refurnish it would be a blast to playout.

Re: Buying Land and Ownning A buisness
Interestingly enough, I've just had this come up in game tonight, group had received their first serious windfall and the City Rat decided it was time for home-ownership once they got back to urban civilization. Had to spend a bit flipping through a few books to get a feel for costs, mostly found pricing for really crappy hotel rooms, a few decent hotels, and one decent boarding house, then compared that against modern equivalents in my head. Going off her budget and several 'luck rolls', managed to turn up a couple decent places in the area she was looking at, offering a small home over in Escanoba and an upper loft outside of Manistique City as her top choices at a low million credits each, noting that owning, rather than renting, gets a fair bit more expensive the deeper into the city places go. In the end, she preferred having a real home within a city, and went for the house in the less cosmopolitan industrial city.
Now I have to invent a great deal about the city of Escanoba within the Manistique Imperium.
