Difference?

So what is the difference between nightspawn and nightbane? Are these linked in some way?
Gamers are the only people I know that can brag about the things they pretend they did.

Nightspawn was the original name of the setting, to avoid potential lawsuits with Todd MacFarlane, the game was changed to Nightbane. Note: this is a very touchy subject to some of the members of the forum.

Ok cool. I just wondered since it was one game I never got into before. I got a book off amazon. It said Nightbane. But the book I got said nightspawn on it. thought I got sent the wrong book.

I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree :D

And people( Me! ) who got the Nightspawn MB who do not like the RDC conversions or otherwise hate what PB has <descriptive adverb> up in the latter NB books have the choice of making NightSpawn so that do not have to follow the rubbish things made up for NB.

Even so the NB books make a nice resource books for a Nightspawn chars.


As to my viewpoint on the difference between NS and NB, NS is a race, while NB are the Wraiths that they were 1st envisioned as.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.
Reading and writing (literacy) is how people on BBS interact.

I agree. Nightbane is a better name... it's a silly reason that it was changed but not all for the bad.

Really? there are two copies of it at my local gaming store.

Is Lancer's Rocker's for Robotech collectable too? there are two copies of that as well.

From what I've seen yes that's also a collectable due to its rarity, even if others are derisive of the material.

It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

There is still one instance in the Nightbane book that has Nightspawn still....see if you can find it.
