Is it just me, or does Tongue of Flame do the job of Eyes of Thoth and Tongues?
In other words, does Tongue of Flames allow you to read and write languages? For that matter, it should allow you to understand sign language (which Tongues does not), and any other "language"!
I can't even define the intent of the spell or whether my interpretation goes against it or not. What do you think?

Hmm, it just says "understand" language (but not speak it). I can't think of a reason why this understanding would not apply to both spoken and visual language, but the character wouldn't be able to write or sign -- he'd only understand what others are communicating.
