Ammunition in AtB
How do you guys deal with the lack of resources for ammunition outside of the empire of humanity? I understand that one can just have home made gunpowder and pack their own bullets, but what about replacing the primers on the casings? Also are the mutants only limited to small arms, have they found a way to manufacture rockets and other heavy ordinance?

primers are easy. you can replace fulminate of mercury with potassium chloride, which is easy enough to make with even a 17th century level of chemical engineering once you have the knowledge.
smokeless powder is tougher, but black powder can be used at the expense of effective range and increased wear on the weapon.
and don't forget there are Holstein enclaves all over the midwest, which produce technological goods. and it is likely that cardania make ammunition as well. possibly others too. so the ammo supply is there.
i would assume that mutant animals have learned to make their own heavy ordinance. most modern cannon since 1900 are basically over sized breech loading rifles, and while they may not be up to fancy guided missiles (remember by canon Cardania is only at a mid 20th century level of natively produced tech), things like Katyusha rockets should be well within their abilities. even basic guided missiles like the ww2 Ruhrstahl X-4 wire guided missile or even some of the german radio controlled rockets should be well within their production ability.
likewise there is no reason that the cardanians couldn't build a main battletank. even something as basic as an M4 sherman tank would give the cardanians something to try and counter the EoH's tanks and robots. though i'd personally prefer something more like a M50 super sherman or M48 Patton
