shifter summon

Unread post by Zamion138 »

I run a shifter right now in our game ,im level 4, currently i have a drake as my fermiler, and curently a brodkil as my long term summon.
There are only two of us as pc's so my summons are basicly our only source of help on missions.

So i like my brodkill but any suggestions for anouther long term servant?

Our group's Shifter had a Valkyrie as his first pact summon - what made her great was the bored valley girl accent and attitude she had. He also had an earth elemental type being for a while, too.

Rakasha. Shapeshifter extrodinare, more psionic powers than a mind melter and plenty of magic and physical toughness to back it up.

Just have to be reeeeeaallly careful how you manage them :D

I was looking for shifter minions myself not too long ago, particularly I was looking for non-evil ones, then I was just looking to stay away from Dyvall/Hades and the minion war (there are a couple of exceptions). Some of the following were provided as suggestions but I have not investigated:

Sun Dog (Vampire Kingdoms Revised)
Drahkin Luckbirds (Mindwerks)
Will-o-Wisps (conversion book 1)
*Living Chariot (Nightbane: Nightlands)
Seraphs, and the like (conversion book 1)
Phoenixi (Rifts: Africa)
Domovoi (Mystic Russia)
Ramen (Rifts Africa/Palladium Dragons & Gods).
Unprincipled Rakshasa (Hades)
Oni Mystic (Rifts: Japan)
Spirits of Light (Dragons and Gods)
Guardians (Nightbane)
Wampyres (Nightbane)
Unicorns (CB1)
Wing Tips (CB1)
Cliff Diver Lizard (Rifter #34)
Cliff Eagle (Rifter #34)
Greater Cyclops - (CB2)
Immortal Monster (PU2)
Cernun (Rifts: England)
Shock Dragon (Dyvall)

*Bonus: If you get the Living Chariot, and have it for long enough, and the owner doesnt find you, it becomes yours outside of shifter powers
Oderint Dum Metuant.

The fun thing about them is some of them are wizards and others are diabolists, so a Summoner who gets one as a minion can command them to teach their trades. Probably the easiest way to become an Alchemist.

Not quite, just having summoning, wizardy and diabolism dosn't make you an alchmist, you just have to master those trades before you begin training in the alchmist OCC which is a different form of magic altogeather.

Well okay, I suppose one might still have to seek out an alchemist to teach one the craft. Would anyone know if there are any alchemist NPCs we could consult to see if they are given a separate experience level or something? I for some reason was thinking it some kind of add-on rather than an explicit class (much like Mega-Hero). I think I've seen 'alchemist' listed among some god NPCs but a mortal would be more useful.
