The damage bonus applies to all melee strikes, bare handed or with melee weapons. (Looks like someone forgot to press the "return"/"enter" key between the two lines.)
Other then the +1 APM from boxing, the other bonuses from the physical skills are added to the char.
However, if I was the GM I would have the attribute bonuses added in before raising to minimum attributes.

Hm, I want to say they can add this to their 'Unleash Physical Energy' attack too, or maybe just +5 since it's force AND heat, but probably neither.
Regarding the HtH:MAM abilities, anyone have opinions on how 'Automatic Body Flip' mentioned off the bat on pg 212 meshes with 'Judo-stye body throw' later on Pg 213?
This first is an ability the aggressive/deadly guy gets at level 9 (oddly, defensive guy never gets an automatic body flip, though they do get an automatic back flip prior to getting an automatic dodge)
I'm going to assume they're different due to the difference between 'flip' and 'throw'. Maybe I'm just falsely imagining "flip/throw" being used in tandem like how body block/tackle gets used...
So basically an ancient master can in a no-cost defense nullify your attack and potentially either disarm you or make you lose your next attack...
then go on to do a throw which makes you lose 2 more attacks. =/
