When do we get to see the rules?
Open Betas are common these days, especially among Kickstarters. Its a great idea since you can get feedback from a much larger group and essentially a bunch of free editors before the rules book and the game cards go to press.
Any idea when we are going to see the rules for RTT?
Any idea when we are going to see the rules for RTT?
Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Not till it's shipped to us with the rest of the stuff.
That's the last I knew, but I would be pleasantly surprised if they changed their stance on this.
Feels like I've been asking for so long, I've kinda given up. Good luck!

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Only a select few have what the official rules are.....beyond that not until it ships. I;d rather have it now to study and try with paper counters in order to see if there may be problems that need fixing.
I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Due to licensing agreements with HG, PB can't show us the rules till it comes out. Just be careful you don't express yourself to freely you might get a warning or banned for life. It's not safe to discuss ideas here. Good luck!

This might help. It's from PB itself.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
It sounds like the Backer Community needs to press upon PB the need for an Open Beta for the benefit of all. In the end, an Open Beta benefits PB the most since it helps them put out a superior product with greater appeal and built-in system evangelists. It only results in more money, not less.
I've never had a problem on the PB forums. There are several Defenders of the Faith who I really like and I'd happily game with them anytime, but we differ on how we believe a fan/customer should support the company. And that's cool.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
PB does not have the ability to release the rules or they would have by now. It will be as flawed as the rest of the books they publish.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Also the backer community has no power to do anything as they are mostly ignored now that PB has the money from the KS they get intermittent info at best.

How is it known that PB doesn't have the ability (or permission) to release the rules? Was there some posting on the KS?
Has someone at PB stated that they will not show us the rules?
I don't believe the Backer Community is powerless. More importantly, the Backer Community is really, really important to the success of RTT long term and that starts with an Open Beta to make sure the rules work as intended.
Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Back in January, a poster on another forum claimed to have called PB. He claimed this was what he said:
"He said they aren't allowed to show any kind of rules or cards in digital format & won't send out early bird rulebooks regardless of length of delay."
From whomever was on the phone. Not me, not saying it's the way it is. Just repeating what I heard.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Tom Roache, the guy that got this thing going in the 1st place said as much on the KS comments page yesterday. Confirming what was already speculation.

Why can't you believe that? Take a good, hard look at the Kickstarter page.
Nowhere do they remark that we will be listened to. Or matter. At all.
Yes, they talk about the risks, what they're doing to mitigate them. They talk about the communication and behind the scenes insight.
Nothing on taking backer concerns seriously, no two way streets here. This is NOT a collaboration with the backers. We gave the money and now, like a poster in the comments said: shut up, Peasants!

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Well PB did offer a 'Rules Overview" in PDF form here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rr ... sts/485501
Take it for what it's worth.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
Yeah... not quite the same thing.
Might as well reference the Gencon demo rules sheet (literally, 1 page) and claim that was getting a look at the rules.
Pretty weak sauce.

Re: When do we get to see the rules?
You should start a new topic with the rules all laid out for those who care to see and read. You can even set it up in spoilers if that is how you want to approach it to make it look smaller. That way people can ask you questions about it and have a discussion in it's own place. If it stays reasonable, then have Nmi sticky it at the top.
