"Mister Klaatu, Mister Gort, any attempt to contain us, and especially any attempt to 'eliminate' us will be met with the utmost resistance. We straddle space, we travel across universes; we will not be so easily cowed, controlled, or, yes, eliminated by the pretentious arrogance of a self-declared 'cosmic law' that judges us as unfit to survive. We are willing to make accommodation with those who respect our right to exist; we make no such accommodation with those who pronounce genocide on us. Bring it, fat@$$."
I have heard of something like this before, but can't place it.

Yeah, sending some people(or an entire SPECIES) to the galactic equivalent of a gulag or hell is a REALLY bad idea...

Not to worry, though, all three of those species deserved it.

Cut To: Deep Space.
The Gargoyle defolds and finds it's self surrounded by saucers
Bridge Officer #1: "CAPTAIN!!! THEY'RE CHARGING WEAPONS!!!"
Kirk: "Open hailing frequencies, tell them we come in peace! Weapons and shields at full."
Bridge Officer #2: "CAPTAIN!!! SHIP DEFOLDING BEHIND THEM!!!"
Aboard the Argo...
Captain Marie Erdrich: "Full speed ahead! Fire all weapons!"
The Argo charges through blasting the fleet of saucers, it passes so close to the Gargoyle that it scrapes the paint off the port side.
Bridge Crew: "Cool they even have a battle theme."

Ironically, the Gargoyle didn't MEAN to wipe out those three species; the engineer was experimenting with this new propulsion technology he'd found in the ship's database: the Queller Drive.

Well, Engineer Frankenfuber had a serious problem distinguishing reality from fiction. For YEARS he attempted to find out if Montgomery Scott held engineering seminars and where. And he wondered if Doctor Emilio Lizardo had ever done any research into Fold Space and how it related to the Oscillation Overthruster.

Re: Robotech Crossover question
From the examples we have... its not an easy comparison.
Robotech ships are acceleration based, phase world is not. Standard weapons are mostly comparable, if a bit leaning toward phase world in regards to ranges, but robotech's heaviest weapons greatly beat phase world stuff. durability is similar hull wise, but phaseworld has shields.
Fighters are easier.. phase world tends to win there. Faster, tougher, have shields, better non-missile firepower.

Gaby, it's YOUR game. You can do what you want with it. The only limitation is whether you, as the GM, can sell it to your players, who may have other ideas where to go. It's THEM who are going let you know if it works, and if they decide that they don't want it to work, well, you go with the flow, rather than force the issue. If not, then you better have another campaign plan to take them on.
Use your imagination. Think on your feet. Be prepared to revise or scrap as appropriate.

Re: Robotech Crossover question
...ah damn...Book One of Robotech: Ashes of Empire on fanfiction.net ended, and the author last-call-for-leaving-killed my two favorite characters.
I was SURE (sub-lieutenant) Koso was going to end up in a closet with a Quadrono(clothing optional), but he's definitely dead, leaving a protege to carry on his memory. And the second-string comedy-relief Quadrono I was SURE was going to be Dixon-killed, instead lived.
The regular Zentraedis' promising Crowning Moment of Awesome got turned into a meatgrinder.
The author's going to switch to events playing out on Earth and introduce the new baddies' advancing nefarious plan before we get to see what happened to the Zentraedi regulars again....gonna be a hard wait.

Ya, sad that he is gone. But at least his work is continuing.

Re: Robotech Crossover question
Actually, if you look at the Ender's Game movie and Robotech, they match up surprisingly well...
Enderverse starships may travel interstellar far slower than Fold Drives, but they do have instantaneous communication, and their ships are roughly comparable in tonnage and capability. though the EG ships have the advantage in that their fighters are drones, and they have a LOT of them. However, they're fighting the Formics, who being organitech, apparently don't have the means to jam the command links that the EG humans have to control their drones(hell, the Buggers don't even recognize humans as sentient at first because we're not a collective intelligence), although it's possible that ansible/gravity tech could be what's linking the drones for instant real time control. And the' Little Doctor' is arguably a touch better on Neutron S missiles, though the latter are 'fire and forget' while the former is 'drive your flagship up within range'.
The Formics clearly have NUMBERS compared to the Invid, but Invid lack the extreme centralization of the Formics...a lucky kill on a Formic Queen, and most, of not all, of the invasion force literally stops dead in its tracks. I don't see the Invid having that problem.

There is also the Invid ability to precision teleport over interstellar distances.

Of course before that happens, the UEG will probably be doing to Ender's teachers what they did to Gendo.

IMO, Gendo was WAY worse then any of Ender's teachers.

A cell deep below GMP HQ: The door opens reveling a lone figure inside.
Nova: "YO! GENDO! You got new roommates!"
Hyrum Graff, Major Anderson and Admiral Chamrajnagar are shoved in the cell and the door slammed behind them.
Gendo: "So, what are you in for?"
Graff: "We apparently encountered an Anime world that doesn't believe in using child soldiers."
Anderson: "Go figure."

Re: Robotech Crossover question
Oh yeah, the NBsG/Halo xover 'Red in Tooth and Claw' has Halsey obliged to explain herself to the Colonials, admitting she's a monster, but that civil war was an even greater atrocity(and the war with the Covenant was a lucky moral happenstance). The fact that Cortana manages to get a bioCylon body that's genetically related to Halsey has her bending the rest of the series to make sure her daughter and her son-in-law have normal lives. So she's a repentant monster.
Most fanfics that deal with the issue have the Spartans treat her as a mother figure(apparently, even though there are painful failures during the intitial stages of the augmentation program, the cripples are well looked-after) and would go thru hell to get her back.

Though, with that one, wouldn't they have to take in all of ONI. And wasn't it originally their ideal to go ahead and do it, not Halsey? She might have said, to do it right, they would have to be real young, but, as I said, ION is the one that said, great ideal, let's do it! Though I could be wrong .

It's canon also. The Spartan 2 on Noble team said she was like a mother to him.

from the Halo 4 prologue.. which would work for the crossover-verse here too, just replace the ONI interrogator with a GMP one..
Interrogator: "Tell me about the children."
Interrogator: "Dr. Halsey?"
Doctor Catherine Halsey: "You already know everything."
Interrogator: "You kidnapped them."
Halsey: "Children's minds are more easily accepting of indoctrination, their bodies more adaptable to augmentation. The result was the ultimate soldier."
Halsey: "And because of our success, when the Covenant invaded, we were ready."
Interrogator: "Dr. Halsey, you're bending history for your favor and you know it. You developed the Spartans to crush human rebellion, not to fight the Covenant."
Halsey: "When one human world after another fell..."
Halsey: "When my Spartans were all that stood between humanity and extinction..."
Halsey: "Nobody was concerned over why they were originally built."

Re: Robotech Crossover question
Well, when accused of being a monster, you can either attempt to provide proof that you did so unwillingly, with a gun to your head*, or you can go full bore monster because you're going to hang anyway, so you might as well go out with flair.
Damn few times does a monster get the opportunity to claim credit for "I was right all along, but just didn't know how right I really was."
*Many Waffen SS after WW2 claimed they were ordered/forced to commit atrocities in the field because Himmler, aware that an Allied victory would mean war crimes, didn't want his men to squeak out by claiming to be 'desk criminals', guilty only of pushing paper and passing along orders.

Their is a big thing now that the guy doing the interrogation isn't ONI. Also if you guys are interested and want more fuel for this thought for the crossover: http://huntthetruth.tumblr.com/
