Which action does a spell/psionic power activate?
If a spell/psionic power takes two or three actions to cast then when does it activate? At the end of the last casting action? What if the caster is injured during casting?

Spells are explicitly able to be interrupted while casting. Add in the fact that the time to cast is just that...casting time. And the conclusion is obvious.
They go off after all the time needed has been spent casting the spell. And if you get hurt in the meantime you need to see if you can continue or if you lose your concentration.

The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.
