Here I thought this would be a thread about how zombies slowly decompose, how sub-zero temperatures halt the process, and how PPE can reverse it.

State of Decay is good.

I've thought about using it's pre-generated system or random determination setup to work up NPC's

Yeah with PPE restoring a zombies state of decay, that turns back the clock on "how long till this zombie is no longer a threat".

really like "State of Decay" it really focused on survival and management of your team. Only problem I had was the repetition. "Damn, I have to go talk Jim off of the edge again" . it can also be gruesome as you go and suicide the useless characters to keep your group at a manageable size. "Bob, you are an alcoholic, serial killer with a bum knee.... please go out to that woodshed for a sec. Wait? zombies?..of course there are no zombies there Bob, it is perfectly safe. Oh, and could you leave your pistol in the cache?"
