Logans are taller though.. 13.3 feet vs 8.9 ft. at least if the Logan's tails are deployed. not sure what the height would be with tails folded down.
Yeah...I was thinking of the triangular shape of Viper launch tubes...You'd have to modify the Logan's tail fin rotation to be more like that of the HAVE BLUE prototypes for the F-117 Nighthawk, so they would fold up and inward in launch mode(with the wings swung forward. Downside; you wouldn't be able to launch w/ missiles on the wings(the capacity for which is a selling point for the Logan versus the Viper, which has almost belly-fuselage hardpoints.
Hmmm...in space, I figure the Mrk II's likely to be faster, but the Logan has armor and maneuverability on its side, and energy weapons. You'd probably be best off using a mix of Vipers and Logans...the Vipers filling the fast space interdiction role, the Logans serving as Marine support, boarding, and dogfighting in the tangle. Of course, the Raptor is the SERIOUS gunship for Colonial Marine close support and recon/EW, but isn't terribly agile.
nah.. why give them Logans? sell the colonials surplus VF-1 Valkyries with Super packs. they can launch from the hanger pods similar to raptors. or VF/A-6 Alpha's..
