I had an idea while at work. Actually, I had a few, but this one gelled up first. It will take a few posts to get it in. Please pardon any spelling errors. *** "Boss! The medic just vanished!"
Darkraven looked up from, okay, he was looting a downed enemy. Most of Aleph Squad was in the process of that.
"What do you mean, she vanished? Explain."
"Yes sir. She was tending to Murphy (the poor bastard) when this purple symbol appeared on her forehead, some polearm appeared in her hand, and she disappeared in flash of light."
Darkraven frowned. Corpsman Tomoe was an extremely valued medic in any squad, but Aleph had adopted her as a little sister. They absolutely adored the bright, cheerful young woman, and were extremely dedicated to her protection.
"Damn. Sounds like a Senshi Summons. Aleph Squad! Form up! Tomoe has disappeared, and we gotta go help our little sister!"
"Sir, yes sir!" came the chant as the squad members abandoned their looting, gathering together in their powered armors.
Darkraven got into the cockpit of his destroid. Keying in several sequences, he called up some new modifications in it's sensor suite. Cross-dimensional tracking was usually extremely difficult without specialized equipment. Fortunately, Amanda Waller from the Regime world had been very... forthcoming with equipment in exchange for her seat on the UEsG Shadow Council.
And since the teleport call had been unshielded... There. Now he could get there with some adjustments to his Spartan.
One of the first-generation models, he remembered that the technicians had despaired over the intensive servicing that the Spartans had required. Darkraven had managed to keep his unit after they had been phased out, and then got it heavily upgraded.
Now the thirty-seven foot tall war machine was on par with any weapons platform from his home world. The Nerf Warrior had gutted it, replacing the entire chassis with local technologies. New sensors, armor, weapons systems, and techno-wizard additions including a massive emerald for mystic energy storage. Now, with the device he'd gotten from Waller tracking the interdimensional teleport signature, he could move the entirety of Aleph Squad across the continuaa.
Once the sensors identified that the entire twenty man squad's power armors were attached to the exterior of the Spartan, he coded a few commands. The device Pinged at him, and he began opening the portal.
"Aleph Squad! No man left behind!" he cried out over the radio.
"Hoo-Rah!", came the impassioned response as the giant machine stepped across the dimensional barrier. *** Meanwhile, at a sanitarium some twenty universes over...
"Hold her down! Where's that neural tranquilizer?!"
"It's coming! But she's been on meds so long she's practically immune to them all!"
The nurses struggled, as the green haired woman thrashed, apparently in a series of seizures as she babbled in multiple languages. Suddenly the nurses were thrust aside by the woman's redheaded lover, a single fingertip pressing to the back of the woman's neck. Instantly, she settled, the seizure apparently done even though she was still muttering in long dead tongues.
Ranko sighed as her lover settled down. The shiatsu sleep point still worked. She had no idea why Setsuna had freaked out like that, and was intensely worried.
A glow appeared in mid-air, Sailor Pluto's Garnet Staff appearing, hovering almost expectantly in mid-air. Setsuna, even unconscious, was reaching for it with her fingertips.
One of the doctors ran up. "What's going on? How is she doing?"
"We don't know, doctor," one of the nurses admitted. "She wass in the lounge playing a board game when she started seizing. Ranko put her to sleep with a pressure point, but she's still babbling in languages we can't understand."
"Damn. Must be something to do with her being a senshi," the doctor muttered, eyeing the Garnet Staff. "But what the hell do we do about it?"
Setsuna's eyes snapped open. They were glazed over, as she mumbled, "The princess calls, we must answer." Her hand snapped out, touching the staff with a single finger. "Go forth, my weapon. Access is granted."
The staff flared, disappearing as Setsuna passed out, completely drenched in sweat as her body finally relaxed completely.
In their secret lair, the 4[sup]th[/sup] Wall Gang poured over ROBOTECH Rpg[sup]tm[/sup] rule and sourcebooks, trying to work out the best force mix to take down an ancient RIFTS[sup]tm[/sup] Dragon. As a group they looked up when a nearby console beeped for their attention.

Here's the next installment. ******** Sailor Moon wasn't doing well. The Sailor Quartet had been disposed of, almost all of her senshi were down, and only she and Sailor Saturn were fighting against Galaxia.
Saturn was actually doing quite well. Facing down against the revived Sailor Animamates, she had killed three of them with advanced combat maneuvers even as Sailor Moon, using the full power of the Guinzuisho, was holding off Galaxia.
Unfortunately, Uranus and Neptune had been posessed by Galaxia's power. As soon as the Senshi had teleported in, they cam under assault.
Saturn gutted them mercilessly. Silently. Professionally.
Even Mars was ill at the sight of that.
Sadly, the corrupted senshi had terminally injured Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter, while Mars came under concentrated attack from the Animamates.
Pluto was still nowhere to be found, even though the summons had clearly registered contact with her.
Galaxia was smirking at Serenity, giggling quietly. With all thast had happened, her victory was nearly assured. And then she stared as a massive portal opened, a giant machine stepping through.
Almost instantly, smaller machines sprang off of it's armored plates like fleas leaving a dog. The machines were man shaped, each one a different model. All of them moved in flawless coordination.
Iron Mouse tried to use her Galactica Crunch on several fast moving units, but was lasered, particle-beamed, and head-butted into oblivion.
Aluminum Siren went for the grapple with her mystically empoered hair. She went down to a practitioner of the Kuno Family Martial Arts Form, who then beat her to death with his mailed fists.
Lead Crow summoned a tornado of energy, firing it at a group headed her way. Three were caught up in it, but their armor withstood the assault. The other two closed in hard and fast, impaling her on their CADS units.
Tin Nyanko, identifying that these warriors had alternative methods at their disposal, fired golden spheres at the wave approaching her. Two went down as the spheres bypassed their armor, glowing gems rising from their bodies.
Tin Nyanko was then instantly caught in a maelstrom of plasma from a unit in armor from South America. Her twitching body was then riddled with railgun rounds. The glowing gems returned to their bodies, but the men remained unconscious.
Heavy Metal Papillion summoned vines to entrap her opponents. The troops has issues with that until they were set on fire by a friendly unit, burning the vines into ash even as Heavy Metal Papillion's head was torn off by an Aleph juicer in Juicer Killer armor modified with Magical-Adrenal Rush.
Galaxia was now extremely angry. Not only were all of her forces defeated, but somehow that sailor brat Serenity had summoned other forces!
"Galactica Inflation!" she cried, dark energies forming around her as she charged into the fray, the energies tossing armored troops around like dolls. The ones further away were firing, but their weapons were just being absorbed by the negative energies surrounding Galaxia.
"dead scream" called out a male voice over a loudspeaker. Looking over, Galaxia was hit by Pluto's attack as she had been goggling in astoundment at the sight of a forty-foot tall war machine in a Sailor Fuku, a giant Garnet Staff in it's hand. Her energy field protected her, but she still went flying.
In the Spartan, Darkraven internally swore. Somehow, once again, he was in a skirt as a magical girl. And so was his Spartan (which was freaking out the sane portion of his mind). He had gotten the message from Pluto, along with the Garnet Staff; he had temporary access to her powers and abilities and was allowed to use them for the current crisis.
Sighing, he focussed his mind on the task at hand: backing Corpsman Tomoe. She was one of his men, and Aleph never abandoned one of their own.
Charon: "Someone's gonna get hurt...and I'm glad its not me. Wait, I can't get hurt, I'm already dead! I'm talking to myself again, aren't I?"
Two phrases come to mind: "Just because you're immortal, doesn't mean I can't find a way to knock you on your ass."

Meanwhile... Sailor Galaxia was REALLY having second thoughts about the standard 'stand, pose, and power-up with a pretty speech on your lips' protocols she was used to. Every time she did that, even for a moment, either the skies would sleet with exploding projectiles, or a single BIG and FAST projectile would slam down on her, bouncing her several miles. And then there were the energy beams..... Alone, she might shake off them off individually, but quantity, she discovered, had a quality all its own. Especially if it kept her from unleashing her more powerful area of effect attacks.

Darkraven looked up from, okay, he was looting a downed enemy. Most of Aleph Squad was in the process of that.
"What do you mean, she vanished? Explain."
"Yes sir. She was tending to Murphy (the poor bastard) when this purple symbol appeared on her forehead, some polearm appeared in her hand, and she disappeared in flash of light."
Darkraven frowned. Corpsman Tomoe was an extremely valued medic in any squad, but Aleph had adopted her as a little sister. They absolutely adored the bright, cheerful young woman, and were extremely dedicated to her protection.
"Damn. Sounds like a Senshi Summons. Aleph Squad! Form up! Tomoe has disappeared, and we gotta go help our little sister!"
"Sir, yes sir!" came the chant as the squad members abandoned their looting, gathering together in their powered armors.
Darkraven got into the cockpit of his destroid. Keying in several sequences, he called up some new modifications in it's sensor suite. Cross-dimensional tracking was usually extremely difficult without specialized equipment. Fortunately, Amanda Waller from the Regime world had been very... forthcoming with equipment in exchange for her seat on the UEsG Shadow Council.
And since the teleport call had been unshielded... There. Now he could get there with some adjustments to his Spartan.
One of the first-generation models, he remembered that the technicians had despaired over the intensive servicing that the Spartans had required. Darkraven had managed to keep his unit after they had been phased out, and then got it heavily upgraded.
Now the thirty-seven foot tall war machine was on par with any weapons platform from his home world. The Nerf Warrior had gutted it, replacing the entire chassis with local technologies. New sensors, armor, weapons systems, and techno-wizard additions including a massive emerald for mystic energy storage. Now, with the device he'd gotten from Waller tracking the interdimensional teleport signature, he could move the entirety of Aleph Squad across the continuaa.
Once the sensors identified that the entire twenty man squad's power armors were attached to the exterior of the Spartan, he coded a few commands. The device Pinged at him, and he began opening the portal.
"Aleph Squad! No man left behind!" he cried out over the radio.
"Hoo-Rah!", came the impassioned response as the giant machine stepped across the dimensional barrier. *** Meanwhile, at a sanitarium some twenty universes over...
"Hold her down! Where's that neural tranquilizer?!"
"It's coming! But she's been on meds so long she's practically immune to them all!"
The nurses struggled, as the green haired woman thrashed, apparently in a series of seizures as she babbled in multiple languages. Suddenly the nurses were thrust aside by the woman's redheaded lover, a single fingertip pressing to the back of the woman's neck. Instantly, she settled, the seizure apparently done even though she was still muttering in long dead tongues.
Ranko sighed as her lover settled down. The shiatsu sleep point still worked. She had no idea why Setsuna had freaked out like that, and was intensely worried.
A glow appeared in mid-air, Sailor Pluto's Garnet Staff appearing, hovering almost expectantly in mid-air. Setsuna, even unconscious, was reaching for it with her fingertips.
One of the doctors ran up. "What's going on? How is she doing?"
"We don't know, doctor," one of the nurses admitted. "She wass in the lounge playing a board game when she started seizing. Ranko put her to sleep with a pressure point, but she's still babbling in languages we can't understand."
"Damn. Must be something to do with her being a senshi," the doctor muttered, eyeing the Garnet Staff. "But what the hell do we do about it?"
Setsuna's eyes snapped open. They were glazed over, as she mumbled, "The princess calls, we must answer." Her hand snapped out, touching the staff with a single finger. "Go forth, my weapon. Access is granted."
The staff flared, disappearing as Setsuna passed out, completely drenched in sweat as her body finally relaxed completely.

Pluto was still nowhere to be found, even though the summons had clearly registered contact with her.
Galaxia was smirking at Serenity, giggling quietly. With all thast had happened, her victory was nearly assured. And then she stared as a massive portal opened, a giant machine stepping through.
Almost instantly, smaller machines sprang off of it's armored plates like fleas leaving a dog. The machines were man shaped, each one a different model. All of them moved in flawless coordination.
Iron Mouse tried to use her Galactica Crunch on several fast moving units, but was lasered, particle-beamed, and head-butted into oblivion.
Aluminum Siren went for the grapple with her mystically empoered hair. She went down to a practitioner of the Kuno Family Martial Arts Form, who then beat her to death with his mailed fists.
Lead Crow summoned a tornado of energy, firing it at a group headed her way. Three were caught up in it, but their armor withstood the assault. The other two closed in hard and fast, impaling her on their CADS units.
Tin Nyanko, identifying that these warriors had alternative methods at their disposal, fired golden spheres at the wave approaching her. Two went down as the spheres bypassed their armor, glowing gems rising from their bodies.
Tin Nyanko was then instantly caught in a maelstrom of plasma from a unit in armor from South America. Her twitching body was then riddled with railgun rounds. The glowing gems returned to their bodies, but the men remained unconscious.
Heavy Metal Papillion summoned vines to entrap her opponents. The troops has issues with that until they were set on fire by a friendly unit, burning the vines into ash even as Heavy Metal Papillion's head was torn off by an Aleph juicer in Juicer Killer armor modified with Magical-Adrenal Rush.
Galaxia was now extremely angry. Not only were all of her forces defeated, but somehow that sailor brat Serenity had summoned other forces!
"Galactica Inflation!" she cried, dark energies forming around her as she charged into the fray, the energies tossing armored troops around like dolls. The ones further away were firing, but their weapons were just being absorbed by the negative energies surrounding Galaxia.
"dead scream" called out a male voice over a loudspeaker. Looking over, Galaxia was hit by Pluto's attack as she had been goggling in astoundment at the sight of a forty-foot tall war machine in a Sailor Fuku, a giant Garnet Staff in it's hand. Her energy field protected her, but she still went flying.
In the Spartan, Darkraven internally swore. Somehow, once again, he was in a skirt as a magical girl. And so was his Spartan (which was freaking out the sane portion of his mind). He had gotten the message from Pluto, along with the Garnet Staff; he had temporary access to her powers and abilities and was allowed to use them for the current crisis.
Sighing, he focussed his mind on the task at hand: backing Corpsman Tomoe. She was one of his men, and Aleph never abandoned one of their own.

Thanks, I'm glad you're liking how I'm working it up. I have a different arc working in progress; this one was an interesting cause/effect that my brain popped up with.
