This is why commode AIs are never a good idea. Sirius Robotics learned this, although the lesson was less publicly known as the precognitive elevator debacle.

Obviously not the models with either plasma waste incineration of direct-to-deep-space dump capability.

Back to the lesson. Facing off against nine heavy Invid battloids, Snow decimates all nine to scrap metal in about ten seconds.
Standing amidst the craters from his punches and flying dust, the mechs were only able to absorb two maybe three of his claw strikes. Tops.

Then Mechagodzilla stepped on him.

The Tuner smiled as he approached Erin in the main hallway of MCH #69. He knew Wyrmraker would be distracted buying a blueray and sound track cd. "Erin, your fire and temper are white hot. You are the perfect woman for me." Erin looked daggers at him while she transformed from her school uniform to her costume, but it was Sarah who responded first, "Embryo, you realize that we share classes with Ange and Salamandinie?" As the wall of fire hit him he wondered if he had enough alternates to survive this.

Really...all one has to do is take out his CPU in the Ragna-Mail, and he's toast...
And a collaborative strike force between a squad of ninja(they can vacuum ceilings)oombas looking for something to do, and VF-1S Skull One( its reflex systems imprinted with the mental engrams of Roy Fokker, and thus powered at least partially by MANLINESS and HOT BLOOD) have decided to hunt down the EM-CBX001 Hysterica for just that purpose....

Actually, he *would* like that. Well, once the Nerf Warrior and his Psi-Tech sidekick got done working it over and brain-****ing the AI. But those two are deeply malicious when it comes to such worthy individuals.

The Nerf Warrior and the Psi-Tech (I can't remember his name) are characters from a separate Rifts game in the same setting as Darkraven. The Psi-Tech was an outcast of Quebec and hooked up with Rockatansky's group (he was my character, a Battle Magus in charge of the group that contained Darkraven's LLW brother). He is a former Rifts X-gamer (snowboarding and extreme skiing) who specializes in modifying powered armors. He was run by the same guy who ran Darkraven's brother.

The Nerf Warrior was my own character (who never really got a chance to get properly run). A cross of Natural Genius and Techno-Wizard, he was designed to be the TW equivalent of the legendary mage Lictalon. I posted a number of his invented spells in the New Spells thread of the Guild of Magic and Psionics. Hailing from a farm community in the american Southwest, he is a genuinely nice guy who just wants to help make the world a better place. He specializes in converting toys into TW items, as well as significant amounts of recycling (converting old car alternators to wind power, digging wells with a laser rifle). His big goal is to figure out how to replicate the foam formula for Nerf blasters. He also cross-trained into Cyberdoc once he learned about TW bionics, deciding that whioever was doing them was doing it wrong.

Darkraven has them both on semi-permanent retainer to build him stuff. The Psi-Tech has his own workshop in Stormspire, while the Nerf Warrior is very mobile. Darkraven has jacked enough stuff over the years (gotta love the Loot clause in his enlistment contract) to have his own space base (designed by the Nerf Warrior), which is where the two of them work on Darkraven's stuff from. They are both paid extremely well in tech and gems (Darkraven has some deals going with some Spherians for gems; what could you get from a TW when you're offering a flawless emerald the size of a football?), and are always being challenged by him to create new things.

I keep these two separate from the mainline established here, because if these two got into the UEsG as tech advisors things would escalate quickly. They're not military, have little to do with the chain of command or paperwork, and have a tendency of whanging people with wrenches when interrupted for no good reason.

As for an AI like Embryo, they would get creatively malicious. After all, Embryo is an evil AI, therefore he deserves... punishment while they research exactly how said AI functions. These two are deeply moral individuals, and something like Embryo would cause them to be quite offended.

The problem is he's not really an AI. He's an egotistical manipulator with a God complex and an infinite number of spare bodies. He keeps his original in the mech and seems to be able to operate at least three simultaneously.

And being from a magical/technological world, he would most likely be wholly unprepared for psionically enabled mechanics. If they have the original (with no means of him being able to escape, as in no compatible tech to be used as a receiving unit), then they have him down cold. And by this point in the timeline, the Nerf Warrior and the Psi-Tech would be no strangers to artificial intelligences far advanced from anything on Rifts Earth or even most of the Phase World setting. Add to that all of the bits of unusual tech that Darkraven constantly exposes them to, and they can get kind of mad scientisty with their projects.

Heck, look at the base capabilities of the Techno-Wizard and the Psi-Tech. They have both the powers and skills to be the absolute masters of pretty much all tech they come into contact with, and that's at first level. Add onto that several years (levels) of study, extra powers, more spells... Suddenly, they are almost stupidly overpowered in their capabilities to construct, modify, and enhance technology. Which is a good reason (to me) to kind of keep them in the background.

And despite his apparently being a dimensional traveler, he's also apparently not had contact in his explorations with any other societies in other universes...or if he has, he probably came out the winner in those encounters, by dint of superior technology/gimmickry. So his ego tells him that really, the only things he needs fear are from his own homeworld lines where at least the precedents of the technology that might challenge him still exist. Even then, he doesn't seem terribly upset that the Norma still have the Vilkiss even after he tripped up their little rebellion attempt(probably because he figures that the odds of another Normal princess with a sympathetic Manaist mother, and knowledge of the control songs, are so freakin' long, and even if another emerges, hey, he gets another opportunity to play demon-lover).

Hell...I figure a Cyberknight could seriously do a number on him, if the Cyberknight was smart and ninja'ed up to the Hysterica and rip up his hardware. Keep his meatbodies distracted, and he won't see the psychic tech-scrambler(s) sneaking up on him.
Psi-mechanic or technowizard? Give them enough advance intel and lead-time to prepare some goodies, and yeah, Wrymraker's high-levels would stomp a hole in him.
Bonus points if they teamed up with a Ludicrous Mage for the sheer humiliation factor of their target being whacked with concrete pies, tripping over rakes, and getting literally hammered by rains of anvils.

wyrmraker wrote:The Nerf Warrior and the Psi-Tech (I can't remember his name) are characters from a separate Rifts game in the same setting as Darkraven.

That's good to know that it looks like they'll have no problems with him then.

His main advantage in the series was that his real body was hidden away in a pocket dimension. He of course, threw that advantage away for a booty call.

Since I'm fairly unfamiliar with Cross Ange, I'm uncertain as to the exact capabilities of Embryo, so I've mostly extrapolated from the wiki article. But I was figuring that if the mech was sitting in a standard cradle in one of the Yo' Momma's launch bays, it was most likely in a state of shutdown (Standard Operating Procedure for everything except for the custom TW Power Armor), therefore available to be messed with by his mechanics.

As a side note, the Nerf Warrior and the Psi-Tech are some of our more stable characters. My friend Scott (who played the Psi-Tech as well as Darkraven's LLW brother) and I have a reputation for playing distinctly unstable, quirky characters. Darkraven is definitely not stable, the LLW brother had his share of quirks and instabilities, and Rockatansky (the leader of the LLW) was DEFINITELY unstable, he just hid it better than most.

So yeah, a pair of stable, actually moral Rifts characters, armed with wierd tech from across the multiverse, containing several levels of psychic powers and spells (check out the TW Spell Utilities in the New Spells thread for those), and these two are almost a nightmare for most GMs to handle. They might fit in with the UEsG as advisors, but only if they were immune to prosecution. As I mentioned previously, they have a tendency to whack people with wrenches who tick them off.

The wiki was pretty accurate except that it said he used holograms and doesn't mention his multi-dimensional doubles. Figure he's learned something since Cross Ange, the mech in Yo' Momma's bay is a decoy. An AI copy meant to distract those hunting him while Per Degaton, Vandel Savage and Full Frontal deal with Skull One and the Roombas.

Of course, the only question remaining for Darkraven, AFTER his tech crew begins 'analyzing' the AI, is, "Am I going to get hit with War Crimes for authorizing this?"

That's provided they're not already dealing with any others after Embryo.

But yeah, locking him in a John Wu-directed VR sim where he thinks he's seducing Jill or Ange or some other woman and said women turn around to reveal themselves as Chuck Norris or Chow Yun Fat in drag, before obligatory dental work via boot or pistol whipping ensues. .

The only thing that saves the little buggers all the time is that the school is too cheap to harden the microwaves against something that can take out military grade electronics.

Borderline funny...I actually got a Rolex Oysterdate 'perpetual action' wristwatch my senior high school year as a gift...damned thing's watch stem broke after less than three years and Rolex made it so expensive to have the thing shipped and fixed that it wasn't worth the effort.
I've had my el-cheapo drug store Milan for over ten years and aside from having to effectively chisel open the back to change the battery, I haven't had a single problem with it.

The Rolex? It's a rather expensive paperweight.

Re: Robotech Crossover question

Nova and Desdemona sat in their concealed nest overlooking the restaurant patio. Below, Embryo sipped his tea as two figures approached and sat down. One she identified as Hild, the self proclaimed Queen of Hel. The other one her daughter Desdemona identified as someone named Shadow.

As Nova turned on the shotgun mike, a black and red Ragna-Mail appeared before them.

Embryo: (Pausing in the conversation with his partners) "Uninvited guests? That won't do. Eliminate them my Knight Captain."

Dana: (At the controls of her Ragna-Mail) "YES MASTER!"

The kamikaze ninja-Roomba clinging unseen to the underside the patio table, directly above the seated Embryo's crotch, electronically grinned as it clicked off the last safety on its enhanced Anti-Theron field and neutronic charge. <'Gotya'>

Senator Moran: "Hundreds dead, everything within 8000 miles of Cannes irradiated for the next billion years. Did you even consider the collateral damage when you authorized the strike!?!"

General Reinhardt: "Frankly sir, we're still trying to figure out how the little bugger managed to miss the targets."

"I understand the neutron flux rapidly decayed...in keeping with a French device. Should be safe to go back in by the end of the week. Heck, the wine in bottles will be safe to drink."
