Table Size 8x4 or 6x4 ?

So I am wondering if an 8x4 or 6x4 is ideal for playing? I know its probably not needed for smaller battles, but once things gets 300 or 400+ points if any RRT vets out there find themselves wishing for a larger play area?

Im in the middle of putting together my first base game but am making some terrain mat choices and not sure how big to go.

As a wargamer , the usual maxim is to use the biggest table you can get into the space and allow you to move around, so 8x4 would be my suggestion

I use 4x6 myself. But if you have the room to for the bigger 4X8. 300 points can easily fit on a 4x6, 400 also, and maybe 500. After that, I'd go to the bigger 4x8. Hope this helps!
