Cut purses

Unread post by Veknironth »

Well, I'm wondering where would a potential cut purse look for marks? What sort of businesses or events in the Palladium world would attract people carrying a lot of coin on their persons?

Alchemists.
Rich churches.

Well, I thought about alchemists but with all the magic, wards, etc. it seems risky. Would you target the parishioners or the clergy at a church?

You don't target the alchemist. You're a cut purse. You pick the pocket of the guy who is going to see the alchemist.

For the church? Probably the parishioners. Again, less direct interaction with major magical forces.

Markets anywhere there is trading and exchange of goods and money going on. There will be money on people to steal.

I also like the church suggestion. Peoples throughout history would bring their offerings and sacrifices (or money to purchases sacrifices) to the temple. It would be a place with lots of money moving around.

Slave market would be similar.

Royal coronations, public gatherings of all kinds, and bazaars. All you really need is a crowd of people. Mind you there will be guards watching for potential problems.
