Top Rifts OCC/RCCs
I'm working on a little project of my own, and I'm wondering what you all might pick as the most visually iconic OCC/RCCs that help define the Rifts setting.
Hoping to get at least 15!

Most iconic?
I'd go with the Glitter Boy (heck, the game was almost named "Boomers" instead of Rifts).
Followed by Ley Line Walkers.

Re: Top Rifts OCC/RCCs
Add in a hatchling dragon and a mind melter, probably a rogue scholar/scientist, borg, dead boy and city rat/vagabond
those guys fill the general "you need these to make it feel like rifts" line up, the other stuff is all cool and great but these guys go back to the first books and you wanted iconic not OP. Even if they aren't PCs these guys are part of what makes Rifts itself

I'm truly shocked no one has yet mentioned Cyber-Knights, Dog Boys, and Psi-Stalkers...

I thought of them, its just psi-stalkers as much as I love them don't seem to "Say" as much as the others, dog boys are a part of the coalition which is covered by the dead boy, and cyberknights are the wandering hero....which has the glitterboy. they're all good and wonderful but they're overshadowed in their own categories and I was going for an overarching "this says rifts" feel. That said this thread did make me wanna play a psi-stalker again...

Re: Top Rifts OCC/RCCs
To be perfectly honest, I have always been of the opinion that Dog Boys are more iconic of Rifts than Dead Boys are, as are Psi-Stalkers. As much as I love playing them, the only real iconic part of LLW's are their special OCC abilities (and really, only their ability to detect ley lines, nexi, and rifts).

I may debate canon and RAW, but the games I run are highly house ruled. So I am not debating for how I play but about how the system works as written.

They're sort of like Emojis but bigger, can be animated, and can optionally be placed directly on top of text or photos.

I see...
now i'm wondering if you could do a thing where a rift opens up and the message comes out...may not be an Imessage but the coolness of having a rift open on your phone...

I can't animate the text, but just animating a Rift opening is a very cool idea, didn't even think about that!!!
If the first batch does well, I do have a list of others I'd like to add in the future, I might just have to add that one.
Nice work!

Thank you, and you gotta admit, there is not much that's more iconic in rifts than a rift

Re: Top Rifts OCC/RCCs
I think when you first get the game, Glitter Boy stands out. After a bit, everyone seems to gravitate toward the cool kids table and see the cigar smoking Grackle Tooth as what defines Rifts as awesome.

When I think about Rifts, there are three themes that come to mind:
1. Post-Apocalyptic Melting Pot
2. Power at a Price
3. Dystopia
With that in mind, my most iconic are the following:
Adventurer Class: Rogue Scholar. Though I don't care much for Erin Tarn as a character, the idea of scholarship as an outlaw trade is one of the more compelling to me.
Man-at-Arms Class: Juicer. This OCC exemplifies the theme of power at a price. Cyborgs are a close second, but they're not so original, and crazies always irritated me more than anything else (neat idea, generally terrible in execution).
Psychic Class: Psi-Stalker. There's something so iconic about the psi-stalker as metaphor for Earth's immune system, like a white blood cell hunting down the supernatural plagues of Rifts Earth.
Magic Class: Shifter. While the Ley Line Walker's visuals are a big part of Rifts, the shifter's tendency to bond with dark powers seems more thematically iconic, and I love the RUE image of a shifter communing with a supernatural power.
Hybrid Class: Cyber-Knight. Idealists in a ruined world who try to save the village rather than empower the village to save itself, their existence strikes me as both inspiring and inherently tragic, and their combination of psionics, technology, and old-school chivalry embodies the melting pot theme better than any other class in the game.

What about the Grackle Tooth?
