But lets say some really good professionaly fan material comes up...Amazon now effectively owns it...beholding palladium to amazon evermore.
Maybe not a big issue but for sure I would look at it very closely.
The terms of service are pretty bad, but this is Amazon so that should go without saying. This subject has come up before and I still have the same questions.
1) How does this interact with movie and video game rights. I don't think Amazon would or could stop PB from licensing IPs to others but does the movie rights deal with JB forbid PB from doing this or does it complicate this deal in any way? I don't know but it is not outside the realm of possibility.
2) Every "world" on there has a content guide. 8 to 21 rules that must be followed. Could someone write up what they think the guidelines should be?
3) Each world says "Your story will be reviewed and will only be eligible for publication if the Content Guidelines are followed", who is going to review the stories?
I love the idea of being able to read some decent stories for Rifts, Phase World, and I think Century Station would be an outstanding place for some people to do a series of books but, and I have only been looking at Veronica Mars so small sample, most of what I have seen is crap.
Has any brought this up with Scott?
