Calculating misc damage

Unread post by Thom001 »

Hey is there any tables, sets, or calculators for damage sustained that isnt really combat damage.?

Ex.

I once slammed a door in an enemy's face. The GM had me roll 1d6 and a percentile die to see if I broke his nose.

Another players character feel down a staircase. The GM had him roll 1d8 and against him with a 20 sided die if he suffered any injuries.

An enemy had his foot driven over. The GM said 2d6 damage and rolled a percentile die to see if it was broken.

I don't know of an official table like you're describing, but those examples you gave from your GM seem pretty reasonable. I think a lot of it is just common sense. To go along with that, injuries could cause various side effects, like reducing speed by 3/4 until treated in the case of the broken foot and eliminate the sense of smell for a day or so until the swelling goes down for the broken nose. That's only a suggestion to help make the story more dramatic. Someone else might have a better way of doing it, but that's what my group would likely do.

yeah there's no way to list everything's damage, I think people should be rewarded for using their environment, so that all seems proper to me

Since it doesn't get a lot of love, I like to use 1D12! Also, the original ROBOTECH main book had some cool physical damage tables for both critical injuries as well as sustaining great damage. Check 'em out if you get the chance.
