Types of Magic
What are the different types of magic, and in which books are they in?
Obviously Palladium Fantasy.
But what other types of magic are there, and where?

Re: Types of Magic
Depends what setting you are playing. If thinking megaversally, you may want to start your search with...
The Book of Magic for Rifts. It has a wide selection of various, but not all, magic types.
The counterpart for PFRPG is the Mysteries of Magic.
For Nightbane, go to World Book 3 - Through the Glass Darkly.

Island on the Edge of the World (PF 1E) has Crystal Magic (sort of a psionic crystal tech)
Rifts Book of Magic collects examples from various Rifts books into a single source up to around WB22/SoT series, but not always in depth
-African Magics (WB4, Ceremonial and Witch))
-Biomancy (WB6, IINM it might also be in a PF title)
-Blue Flame Magic (WB9)
-Bio-Wizardry (WB2, WB21, possibly smatterings in other WBs from Atlantis)
-Cloud Magic (WB14)
-Conjuring (WB16, also in a PF title)
-Dolphin Magic (WB7)
-Elemental Magic (CB1o, also in PF2E main book)
-Koallyte Shaping (WB7)
-Russian Magics (WB19): Living Fire, Nature, Spoiling
-Nazca Line Magic (WB6)
-Necromancy (WB4, WB19 added to the list, can be found in a PF title)
-Ocean Magic (WB7)
-Native American (WB15, WB20): Shamanistic and Inuit Magic
-Stone Magic (WB2), also includes Pyramid Technology
-Tattoo Magic (WB2, WB21 added to the list)
-Temporal Magic (WB3)
-Whale Singer (WB7)
-Rune Weapons (PF2E, WB2, D&G, WB21, WB7, WB8)
-Techno-Wizard (RMB, gear from various books)
-Herb Magic (WB3)
-Millennium Tree (WB3, WB8, I'd be surprised if it wasn't also in a PF title)
Additional Rifts books:
-WB26 introduces Eco-Wizardry, a variant of TW
-DB13 introduces Space Magic
-Secrets of the Atlanteans has a form of Crystal Magic
-SB3 has the Tarno Crystal (a gem that alters the properties of metals)
-MercAdventures SB, IIRC, has Combat Magic
-WB12/WB30 has the Bubble Maker RCC (unique magic type, though they are closer to psionic in nature than magic IMHO)
-Dragons & Gods (a PF title to) has additional Rune Magic features, plus Defic Magic

Re: Types of Magic
Many of these are also found, at least in part, in Rifts Book of Magic. This list doesn't include "optional" stuff from Rifter, such as Song and Blade Magic.
Spoiler:

We need a sticky article titled "Time of Thousand Magics" and indexing magic types from across Palladium's RPGs.

And the Turning of a Page"

You keep that filthy fanfic off my pristine canon!
Nah, each of those needs a *separate* sticky article, for ease of indexing. There's enough people keep asking for each that I think they'd be worthwhile.

What y'all want is a database, or at least a well-organized spreadsheet.

I'm working on it.
I just need a go/no go from Kevin and Sean on if they want it, or if I can release it publicly.
The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.
