Pg 106 of PU3 has two tables for Minor Super Abilities which divides them into defensive and offensive, so if going by pg 65's "or a Random
Minor Super Ability at first level strength" option for GP, should it be something like a 50/50 coin flip on whether to roll on the offensive or defensive table?
Also while you can't actually choose the RNG, it made me wonder if there were ways to prepare for them so you'd know how useful the upcoming random power would be.
HU2p306 has the psi power Clairvoyance for example - on a successful roll should a GM do something like allow you to roll before your next use of Grant Powers and say "this is the next power which will result when you use the ability" so you can make a more informed choice of when (and on whom) you will use it?

If you have a coin to flip, and choose too use it to determine which table use it.....than do it. It is not soemthing you need to see in the canon text, because the random tables are there to help those who just can't make up their minds about what power(s) the char would have.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

Yeah it just seemed like they could also serve this purpose since we aren't told otherwise how to randomize it.

As a GM, I limit the types of powers granted and guide the player through the selection process. Being able to predict the next power granted would not be possible.

well when it comes to clairvoyance I'm not sur how that works, like even if you get a correct % roll and do see the future - does the character actually know their vision was a correct one?

For that matter, how would the character even know it was Clairvoyance?
