What would be the effect of a silencer/supressor?

What would be the game effect of having a silencer/suppressor on a pistol/smg/rifle?

If you use perception rules, I'd say it makes detecting/recogmizing/locating the gunfire one dificulty category higher.

Based off Real World knowledge and that there is no official rules that I know of directly covering this question....

The where is it coming from perception DR would be +5, if it came out of the blue and only a single shot. But only a +1 if they are listening for it.

A suppressor has a 5-25% chance of being ruined in used while going full auto with the firearm it is mounted on.

HU Game Masters Guide page 207.

As indicated they primarily modify the perception rolls as well as the range in which they can be noticed.
