The invocation Spell of Electric Arc.
Question #1
Can the spell be used in such a way like shooting it into a pool of water or while it is raining to electric everyone in the pool?
Question #2
Can a spell caster shoot someone holding onto metal by shooting the metal?
For exampe, if you attacked using a chain to entangle them then used this electric spell.
Questin #3
Can a spell caster punch someone or tag them with their hand or wrestle them (use a hold) and just electricute them?
The biggest advantage, I can see, is the P.P.E. ratio to number of attacks ratio.
Where most other spells are ONE shot like "Energy Bolt" or "Fire Bolt" this gives you 1 minus your total number of attacks. Depending on your level it could be 4 or more rolls to strike.
The damage is low but comparable to an energy rifle.
So, if you GM that E-Clips count and a count the number of shots 2 or 3 rounds of these spells saves you, like 1,500 credits an E-Clip.
You win the battle of attition if you can survive the rifle fight long enough.
Your CS Grunt enemy will retreat or call for back up or surrender.

Re: The Spell Electric Arc
1. Water and Electricity don't mix, though I would point out Call Lightning doesn't get any spell mention in WB7 when dealing with Ocean Magic so I'm going to say no (it's magic)
2. While metal can be a conductor of electricity, nothing indicates the magical electricity would be conducted down the path to someone else.
3. It's a range attack spell, it doesn't seem to consider melee/touch. You could still use it to attack someone at point blank range so yes.

Re: The Spell Electric Arc
New Question:
Can you cast the spell twice and shoot as paired weapons?
At a Ley Line or Nexus its duration is increase pulse P.P.E. is unlimited.
I see the advantage as a greater economy of P.P.E. energy.
Plus, the CS Dead Boy you get into a shooting match with will run empty on E-clips before you run out of Ley Line or even just your base P.P.E.

Re: The Spell Electric Arc
It might not be necessary depending on how one wants to interpret the "blue energy to leap from the spell caster's hand(s) to the intended target" (BoM pg100, emphasis mine) and how many (ranged) paired weapon "modes" one wants to make available.darthauthor wrote: Can you cast the spell twice and shoot as paired weapons?
Casting time is specifically said to take 2APM and only lasts 15seconds/1-melee round, which can result in situations where you re-casting during the time initial casting would be usable and now wouldn't be or you are reduced to one dual attack (or put anther way you could have done 6d6 over these 3 remaining APMs using a single casting but now only do 4d6). While a Ley Line/Nexus will increase the duration making it somewhat more viable, as I said above dual casting may not be necessary since you can fire from multiple hands at once (how to figure damage is the 2d6 collective or per hand and available paired weapon modes being questions to be answered).
It also isn't clear if this is a spell that you can multi-cast or not (as it can use multiple limbs I'd lean toward no).
There are a few problems here:darthauthor wrote:Plus, the CS Dead Boy you get into a shooting match with will run empty on E-clips before you run out of Ley Line or even just your base P.P.E.
Top
1. the CS Dead Boy likely is not alone (and could also radio for help)
2. the CS Dead Boy likely can out range the mage using this spell (30ft per level, IIRC most CS laser rifles are 1600-2000ft range)
3. the CS Dead Boy can potentially out damage the mage (depending on the weapon)
While the mage could cast buffs as a counter to most of these (they can obviously not be alone themself), range is the hardest to overcome using this spell since 30ft per level means only 450ft at 15th Level (more on a Ley Line/Nexus obviously) meaning the mage would have to get within range and stay there (not saying it can't be done, but a Deadboy might try to widen the gap so to speak).
