WP skills with magic weapon tattoos

Do you need the appropriate WP for each corresponding weapon tattoo?

To Receive or Activate a Magic Tattoo do you need an appropriate WP? No you do not.

The value in the WP comes from the combat bonuses it applies to. A T-man with an Axe Tattoo will IIRC do less damage than a T-man with the same tattoo and WP: Axe at IINM Level 2 or 3 as they get a bonus die of damage. WP: Sword and Fencing are another example in terms of bonuses the T-man loses out on if they don't take the skill(s) if they also have an applicable sword tattoo. Now these are the extreme cases IIRC, most WP limit themselves to bonuses to strike/parry/throw.

I would argue that the magic tattoo is such a part of the PCs very being that they automatically have the W.P. when using that tattoo. Its Magic after all.

You do not need it, but once you have the tattoo, getting the WP is a good idea.
