True Atlantean exceptional Attribute Bonuses

Unread post by (SHIFTY) »

Do True Atlanteans get the attribute bonuses listed in Rifts Ultimate Edition for exceptional attributes? Many of the attributes have a "+" next to them during character creation.

I would assume so. Attributes that are supernatural are listed as such. At least in Secrets of the Atlanteans, the revised version of the True Atlantean RCC. There's no reason PB, IQ, etc, wouldn't get the standard bonuses. If I remember correctly, only PS and PE are supernatural.

Yes, the attribute bonus is determined by the resulting number.

However, the bonus attribute rolls are for flat 3d6 attribute rolls. So, if 3d6+6 you don't get the bonus roll(s) regardless, but you do for ones labeled 3d6. While not listed in RUE, the limitation mentioned does appear in PF2E pg14 where it considers non-humans with alternate dice rolls for attributes. For example, a 2d6 attribute can receive a bonus roll on sufficiently high rolls (I'd also argue it sets precedent for other lower attribute dice combinations), but the 4d6 and above race attributes do not. One might argue that is PF2E and not RUE, but there is megaversal precedent in how to handle them.

I give bonus dice based needing 16+ on 3d6...

6 on 1d6
11+ on 2d6
16+ on 3d6
21+ on 4d6
26+ on 5d6
...

Basically number of dice times 5 plus 1 is the requirement.

If you get 3d6+6, you get a bonus dice if the _roll_ is 16 or higher, not counting the +6.
