Mechanoids Vs ????

Unread post by NoJack »

So who would you like the big bad Mechanoids paired off against? Anybody and anything you would like. Please include who where and why, as well as any other details or plotlines you would like to include.
Dude... It's a tall guy dressed in black, with a weird, glowy weapon thing, and we're a couple of guards in matching shiny armor...

Mechanoids Vs the reawakened Old Ones

Mechanoids Vs All Splugorth Empires United (now that's what I call an Axis of Evil)

Mechanoids Vs Centre from Phase World - how would the 'noids handle Centres defences, including phase tech?

Mechanoids Vs All Cosmo Knights

Mechanoids Vs All the Munchkins from all MDC games
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

Not only would the battles be titanic, but it'd be all types of cool plot stuff seeing the major empires ban together and enemies become allies (like some cosmo-knight having to convince the dominators to sign on, and the Kreeghor having to battle alongside a splugorth fleet).
Not just for a stats v. stats fight, but for an interesting, involving storyline.

sounds like a game I'd like, DL :)

if only I could get the dimension books for it, I'm still stuggling to just get the world books togeather. I've REALLY been meaning to check out the three galaxies

mmmmmmmmmm

I am running an on going campaign with the Mechanoid sourcebook 2, where the AbM Mechanoids made an alliance with ARCHIE 3oz, and entered the Coalition war Campaign, Free Quebec was defeated, the glitterboy was released in Coalition designed chassis, along with several other designs falling into the AbM ARCHIE hand's, forming something for the Siege on Tolkeen, something that the enemy forces(tolkeen) never seen in there lives, cos they died, the Coalition found little or no resistance with the Campaign as most of there wounded seemed to get healed and carried back to safety.

basically changing the storyline but hey......GM right......
after 20 odd years of the same character time has come......

The Mechanoids vs. the Forge...all the Cosmo Knights would converge...probably quite a few Fallen Knights too...

Either that or just have the Mechs fight Hayden IV...

Mechanoids vs. Dominators.
Face it, though, the Dominators would most like win due to things like MASSIVELY superior tech, MILLENIA of experience, and HIDEOUS fire-power... and the WILLINGNESS to do what it takes to win.
Eyes without life, maggot-ridden corpses, mountains of skulls... these are a few of my favourite things.

Actually, no... the Mechanoids are behind, I've got the Mechanoids Sourcebook and the only thing they'd have going for them are numbers... the Dominators were given just a few sample "toys" in Phase World book, and those STILL out-strip the Mechanoids... most of the Dominator tech isn't even described.

There are just too few Dominators to put up much of a fight.

You all are missing the point. Mechanoids have limitless numbers and reproduction. A war of attrition against them will always fail. What you need is a war of pinpointed destruction. Create a virus - computer or mechanical - that will self replicate and wipe them out. How about a magical virus that is resistant to mechanics and psychic powers? How about smuggling in a tactical nuke to the main brain? What about multiple special forces teams to destroy the mechanoid leaders? A bit of philosophical logic that shows them to be hypocritical and force internal discussion that stops them from destroying other races? Now that can lead to some good games.

1) Winner; Mechanoids, by sheer attrition. They would attack as earliest as possible, catching the Old Ones off-guard. The Old Ones, arrogant in their "positions of power", would fall after a long protracted conflict.

2) Winner: Centre. Even surmising the defenses of Phase World would prove to be no match for the mightiest of the Mechanoids weapons, the loss of 'manpower' on the Mechanoids part would be too great.

3) Winner; Cosmo-Knights. The Forge would call in ALL the Knights from every corner of the Three Galaxies reality (and that a heck of a lot!), and since the Knights are mostly "illogical, irrational organics", the Knights save the day by being unpredictable.

4) Winner; Munchkins. The Mechanoids would take one look at them & go "Yeeesh! We thought you were talking about those little doughy-things! We're outta here!" and promptly beat treads in the opposite direction.

I agree on all points except the Old Ones reawakened. more than likely they would create a new magic that would wipe them out.

Here's another thought: Mechanoids vs. Intruders...
Little is known of the intruders, especially numbers... they COULD even have clone factories with which to produce nearly limitless numbers of soldiers over a period of time. And the tech would be new to the Mechanoids, who wouldn't know what they were up against.

Yeah...I've been there...I've posted there...and I'm a believer in the Mechanoid Doomsday device. Nothing short of a few powerful Gods (or kick-butt P.C.s) will stop the Mechanoids.
