MDC bionics
A PC recently lost a limb and wants to buy a new one. He wants a MDC limb. Some have said that MDC limbs weigh too much for a human to have. I have played campaigns b4 where i had a mdc limb but i was not the GM. I was wondering is this PC right? Do mdc limbs wiegh too much for a normal human to have? And also if the character has an mdc limb can he then hit mdc? I always thought the answer was no but then again i have player saying he always played that they could. so can a human have a mdc bionic arm or not ? and if he can does he then hit mdc or sdc?

anyone can have partial reconstuction. yes, it can be MDC, your bones and mucles are reinforced to support it as part of the operation. bear in mind that it though that it will interfear if the cahracter is psionic/magic-user.

You can have something done good, fast and cheap. If you want it done good and fast, it's not going to be cheap. If you want it done fast and cheap it won't be good. If you want something done good and cheap it won't be done fast. ~ Dark Brandon

Though there are at least two different versions on those rules.Nekira Sudacne wrote:anyone can have partial reconstuction. yes, it can be MDC, your bones and mucles are reinforced to support it as part of the operation. bear in mind that it though that it will interfear if the cahracter is psionic/magic-user.

Larsen wrote:thank you all the character has his new arm and has all ready damaged it by using it as a shield in a sword fight. he claims he was "just breaking it in". any way the one who was opposed is mad now becasue he lost the arguement (immature don't u think?)
..Uhh, yeah, as immature as it was a goofy arguement. The only rationale I can figure behind it is the lifting strength. You can't have an MDC arm that does MDC damage and Lifts at robot strength without a partial conversion; if you try it it will just rip off your body.

if he REALLY want to do that, he should be a vibro-blade built into his arm. now that he has it, he can get attachments.

well... a guy with a bionic arm and only that *could* do MD damage on hitting with it : he'd just have to have vibroblades installed in it.

Ok, common sense alert!
Instead of "ripping off your arm" when lifting with a bionic limb, how about we try this instead...
"You grip the bumper of the car with your new hand, lift upwards, and feel your entire body being dragged downwards by the weight of the vehicle. You let go of the car after realising that you also need a bionic spine and at least one bionic leg if you want to succeed at this."
See, much less gruesome, and a lot more likely.

C'mon man! At least have him pull a muscle. I've pulled a muscle in my back just from grabbing my son with one arm as he tried to run past me (he's only 30 pounds)
Yeah, the arm wouldn't rip off with his own strength...but if some supernatural critter were arm wrestling with the PC then.....
