Im pretty sure the spell would last forever, however if the armor were
destroyed, the armor would no longer exist. Spells need to have a
duration for the Ward to work. I believe one of the Rifters recently
clarified this up. Someone help me on this. :?

The clothing would have the armor of ithan until the cothing or the ward was destroyed (I'm pretty sure about this, Madmanmike can you help us on this one?).

Then the tricky part, I (as a GM) wouldn't allow a permanence ward to be painted on .... yeah, on what actually? A spell, probably.

If you do it as a ward you can. In games I've put immobilize on a person/his clothes and then slapped a permanence ward to keep him where I wanted him forever. In fact he's still there (we never removed it) :)

But then you have a problem affixing the ward: it has to be sewn into the persons skin... Would the diabolist creating the ward have to make an attackroll each time he tries to put the needle into the skin? ;)

I know thats the nasty part. Kinda hurts :)

Rifter #25 contains an answer about permanence ward and spells in its Q&A section. I believe it addresses the Armor of Ithan question as in it can be done. However, the AoI can still be rendered to 0 SDC and thus inoperable.

As for affixing the ward, its my opinion that the ward affixation occurs before the spell is cast. Then, the Diabolist activates the ward before the spell duration ends.
