Dwarves in NGR?

Mabye I'm crazy, but I seem to remember reading somewhere the Dwarves are the only "accepted" D-Bee in the NGR due to a clan joining forces with Triax early in the cataclysm. But for the life of me I can't find any hint of it now when I go to look for it. The reason I ask is I am going to be joining a Rifts Merc campaign soon set in Eastern Europe/Russia and I was thinking of playing a Dwarven EOD expert. And making him... ok to cross NGR borders to go shopping and such gives me a much better background. Am I nuts andimagining this? Can anybody give me an idea what book it was in? Thanks.

Try looking in the first Conversion Book under the Dwarf description. I believe there is mention of the NGR/Triax it there.

I confirmed that the very brief mention of dwarves in Triax is listed on page 90 of the first Conversion Book. It's on the very last line of the "Notes" section in the Dwarf description.

Couldn't a Dwarf pass itself off as a small person, that is the people that were once refered to as midgets or dwarfs? Or would they be considered a mutant? A genetic test could prove the difference, but there are a lot of just really short people out there, how tall is the average dwarf?

Well mabey the male dwarfs could pass themselves. But the females?? How many short, stocky, bearded woman do you know??? :eek:

Ok...I don't remember reading THAT anywhere but a D&D monster manual (and the odd Dragon article). Anyone have exact location of statements about female dwarves having facial hair? (Outside of the almost as self contradictory AD&D setting[s]...
