True Atlantean and age and height

Unread post by (SHIFTY) »

I am real confused on the True Atlanteans height and age. It says they start out at 6ft +1d4 inches and gain a inch every century or so and It also states that all older true Atlanteans are between 6ft6 and 7ft tall. can someone explain this to me I am real confused. When they mean "older" do they mean all the elders are usually between 6ft6 and 7ft tall or is this the average height for all adult Atlanteans?

Does the height and age really just very from atlantean to atlantean? I mean I see some NPCs that are 329 years of age and 7ft2 and I saw another with a age of 90 and was also 7ft2.

I take the aging and height to mean that an Atlantean is not considered "older" until 5 centuries or so. Since the average lifespan is 500 years, that probably means it is the mean age of death, so some would live much longer. Like today, the average age of death is 80, but many people are living to 100. After living for 5 centuries, the Atlantean would have grown an additional 5 inches taller.

it ius very simple to understand. after you figured the atlanteans height, you add 1 inch to their height for every 100 years they physically age.l

meh, I tend to play midget true atlantians, so I don't worry. besides, never hada game last more than 5 years game time with time warps so every century hasn'treally mattered.

It says in Rifts Atlantis that the average Adult True Atlantean is 6ft6 to 7ft tall but it also states that they start out at 6ft plus 1d4 inches. That would mean you start out smaller than the average True Atlantean. This does not really make sense to me.

Ok someone explained it to me and thanks guys. Just like normal humans some True Atlanteans maybe shorter and some maybe larger. This is why you start out at 6 feet + 1d4 inches and add a inch for every hundred years of age.The average is just the height of the majority of them, but some could still be larger or smaller. bottom line it just varies.

I was thinking that they all would grow at a certain age to the same height.(If someone is 6ft5 he has to be 125 years of age.)
