Partial Bionic Conversion?

Unread post by Athos »

On page 61 of the Bionics Sourcebook, it says a "CS Military Specialist, CS Dog Pack, CyberDoc and Headhunter can receive partial bionic implantation". Does this mean they can be a partial conversion cyborg without changing classes?

no, only that they can get one or two bionic limbs and not have to change OCCs.

the rest have to change OCCs to Borg after getting only one bionic implant of ANY kind, even a bionic eye.

I'm not so sure. Many classes can get minor cybernetics and bionics (like and eye) without become a partial conversion borg.

Beside what would change? The skill package? I'd say they don't really change class unless it's more severe (both legs, and arms etc...)

Thanks for the quick reply Nekira, but I don't think that is right. pg 63 says you can have two bionic limbs or 5 bionic implants without converting, even if you aren't one of the classes I am asking about.

going by rifts a partial bionic conversion into a borg is having all limbs replaced, spine reinforced, several cybernetic/bionic organs installed, & the skull reinforced. receiving 1 or 2 limbs, & cybernetic/bionic organs is not a partial borg conversion.

Yes that is exactly what that means.

Finally an answer to the question, thanks.

BTW, wouldn't it just have withered the writers soul to have actually used the words "partial conversion" instead of "partial bionic implantation"? I mean look at all of all the confusion he would have failed to cause.

Yes. They only have to change classes if they undergo Full Bionic Conversion (though there are at least two examples of Full Conversion Cyber-Docs in the books).

One of them (Doc Reid) is a 4th level Borg.
