In a game I ran one character got attacked by a large gator in the swamps of louisiana once.

In another game I ran, one of the PCs wasted a half dozen rounds from his sniper rifle trying to hit a light source. The damn firefly kept dodging

they were stalking up on a village looking for VC and one of the players walked thur a spiderweb, the player reacted, so i had the character do the same, everyone loved it.

however, on a gm note, if you do this often it would get very annoying as a player.
