~OUR~Splicer Settings - Making the game Yours

Unread post by TechnoGothic »

ok, this entire thread is about What have you done with the setting so far, what you have changed, what the main focus is for your stories, what have you added, Your Houses in detail that makes them unique and stand out from others, New *Remade* Creatures based on War Mounts that might be running around "Wild" to worry about, and more things you think up....

Something i came up with eariler

SaberCats -- picture a Tiger or Lion like Great cat. Bio-mods besides Saber-blades Fangs are rare, though Sight & Hearing Enhancements they all have too. Strange ability them have...Reproduction, the kittens have the Basic mods from birth, takes only a few months to grow to adulthood, but cannot mate until year 10. As they grow in experiance new mods appear by themselves...usually things to help them Hunt and kill prey. SaberCats were stopped being made long ago, due to a strong will and would turn on humans from time to time. Now it seems *Nature* has found a way for them to reproduce naturally. This scares many houses for some reason

---------------------

As for Setting changes :

(a) Deserts with alot of Rock Towers, ect around.

(b) Dead Ocean with only *wild* bio-engineered creatures living in it. Most ignore humans, ect...

(c) My Main HOUSE ::: still trying to come up with a name for it though.
Basics about it -- Living in the deep desert far far away from the machines and rich sources of Fresh Water. They do have a underground Lake feed by several underground streams though. Water is the most valible thing to the House though, they hate to waste it. The Gene-pool is located nearby though away from the houses water source.

(d)They unique thing about this house is they dont look down upon Biotics like other houses do. They are still second-class citizen in the fact All Biotics cannot leave the Miltary Forces ever. About 45% of all Biotics in the House are Women...They can enter a special program for breeding purposes. It seems Biotic Women will have Biotic children from birth, minus weapon ehnacements though. At about the age of 16, they gain a natural change that produces weapons of various sorts. These natural Biotics never gain Additional Enhancements from the House, because throughout their life, they will enhance themselves naturally ( Levels 3, 6, 9, and 12 - Starts at Level 3 with their first enhancement where they gained their weapons ). This is a Secret of the House. This is also why about 50% of their Forces are Biotics. The Biotic children are tuaght a Miltary way of life from birth, trained in HtH combat, tactics, ect...The first 16 years of their life is a hard life for a child, but once they gain their first weapon/enhancements period, they are absorbed into the Ranks of the miltary proper. Some of the Normal humans dislike this breeding program, but they see it as a nessary evil for the time being. Dreadguards must reproduce with one Biotic women within their first 2 years or turn over leadership to their Second in Command...some even commit sucide due to the disgrace of not being able to Father a biotic child for their House. Even Stranger is the fact, some 25% of these Biotic Children after their first self-enhancement undergo a change and appear more like a Dreadguard in armor than anything human. These are labeled *Anomilies* and alittle feared, specially by the other biotic children. The *Anomilies* biotics appear like Dreadguards in Photosythetic/Thermosynethic armors or Carnivore/Lithorvore/Vampiric Armors, never any of the other. This is why they called Anomilies by the house, these biotics seem to become more Host-Armorish than human. The Current Warlord has Fathered another *Anomily*, 4 out of his 5 biotic offspring are anomilies. If it wasnt part of House' Duty to father one every 2 two, he would stop altogether, His Wife is currently pregnet, and has Nightmares about having a anomily for a child ( though this is impossible, since she is a normal human ). He too worries about this secretly though. This is his First Normal Child. Roughnecks seem to enjoy the company of the Biotic children, and a few has even married these Natural Biotics, since both are so dedicated to the house and the cause.
The Librarian and Engineers started this Breeding program as a test to see what effects would breeding Biotics have. Unknown to all, the Librarian wants more of these *anomilies* being born. It sees them as a great new race. Yes this Librarian is Insane, very Insane. It Hides its Insanity well though.

(e) Archangels are very common in the house *10%*, seeing as the desert is so vast, having a good flier in the air is better than traveling by ground means.
Also, Roughnecks choose Insect-Wing Backs for travel purposes, while Dreadguards prefer Thusters to wing packs.
Biotics who get Flight enhancements generally get Insect, or Leather Wings, and a Few the Weird Wings

(f) Roughnecks *25%* of the miltary.
(g) Dreadguards *6%*
(h) Packmasters *6%*
(i) Outriders *3%*

(j) Before the Breeding program started some 30 years ago...Outriders were more Common than they are now. Outriders dislike this breeding program more than anyone else. They also refuse to take part in it .

(k) It seems these numbers are small, but the House has a Population of 50,000 now due to the breeding Program. Only 40% of the population is Active in the Military at one time though. The Numnbers of Normal Humans in the Military is shrinking more and more every year. Many Ouriders fear this is all planed by their possibly Insane Librarian, but fear voicing their conserns out of Fear of being turned into a Biotic themselves for speaking out.

--------------------------

What do you think...of my Setting/House Plans so far ???
Help with a name for the House would be nice...

Also, the Normal Citizens dont see the actual numbers of how many Biotics they have Breed or *remade*, the Librarians, ect..fudge the numbers for cut fear down.

Ohh yeah i forgot some other Thoughts i was having...

(a) Riathenors :demon: Invading the World during the Story...but they function normally for some reason..

(b) toning down the Machine/nano-pleque aspect so i can include a Few Human Houses who still use Technology...
Otherhouses dislike the use of Technology is partly due to the Old Timers poluting the World, using up most of the natural resources, ect...They the Machine took over ;)

(c) The Riathenors at first will be hiding in Plan site...
Pretending to be a New Form of the Bio-tech process, a new form of Host Armor ;)
Several Houses Fall to the deception before anyone finds out...

-----------

These are just a Few rough ideas still floating in my head as i said.
Mainly Story Plot Hooks and such to add to the world setting.

Geronimo 2.0 wrote:Nagh, Rifts started becoming overly defined long before that.

really they all do After the first few books...

I still kinda like just given me new OCC, equipement, RCCs, ect...a little fluff text about them...just leave Where they are, their relationship with other, ect out of the fluff..i can Work them into my game my way...

in hind sight we all see how things could have been, where we wanted them to go, ect...Rule/By the Book Lawyers types try to force us to use what been written, how it was written, just so they know Out of Character what to expect for the characters while trying to worm that info In-Character at every step ;)

Thats why i Try to change things in the setting...just to throw some surprises at BS roll-players...

but thats just me :D

yeah well i might have to nix, my world info changes..
i talked to my players early in the evening. They would perfer a more Rift-ish setting. Basicly they were saying, they want Rifts, can they just add Splicer Tech to that setting...

ok, by me, i dont care.

i wonder where in North America would be the Bst place to put a Splicer House...

I was thinking either Florida's West Coast or the Mexician East Coast south of Tex...about 100 miles south of the Rio Grand river...maybe Califorina even....near LA somewhere....

ideas ?
