Converting P.C.C.'s from other Worlds.

Certain psychics would lend themselves pretty well to the BTS2e setting.

A couple I can think of off the top of my head are the Cyberknight (just the powers, not the armor/skillset) and Psi-Slinger.

Both are classes with a (fairly) limited selection of abilities, a neat trick or two, and would be well suited to taking down some baddies when the fecal matter hit the proverbial air circulation device.

Anyone else thought about bringing in any other Psychics and converting them?

Also, do you think the CK's Psi-Sword would fit well in the setting with maybe a straight M.D.C. to S.D.C. conversion, with maybe (maybe) an additional 1d6 to start with?

To be honest, I spend so much time working BtS characters into the other games, I hadn't tried working it in reverse. Most of the other PCCs seem a little more powerful on average (some much moreso than others) they seem to overbalance BtS, and one of the better elements of tis game, as compared to Nightbane, is that the PCs are much more fragile than in other Palladium games.
I think the basic idea of a Cyber-Knight or a Psi-Slinger is a cool one, but I get the feeling that Psi-Sword and other Super-Psionic powers weren't included for the purpose of keeping PCs at a lower power level.
I suppose ultimately, it depends on how high the power level is in the game itself.

well, Cyberknights only Super type power is the Psi-Sword, which could be toned down appropriately (just make it 2d6 s.d.c. to start +1d6/3 levels, and just because I love pushing this idea, give it +1 damage for every point of M.E. over 15)

Psi-Slingers shouldn't have any super psi powers as far as I'm concerned, and it would be easy enough to just give them a small selection of physical powers, but the idea of enchanted bullets is just too cool when it comes to kickin monster heinie.

I think a Cybrknight could work - the Psi-sword and bionics. I'm thinking the SOT4 version with the affinity for tech.

Psi-sword is too flashy for what I think of when I think of BTS. I'm leary about the Firewalkers and the Phsyical Psychics sometimes.

Psi-Slinger is right out as far as I'm concerned.

Psi-Nullifier might work. So Might a Psi-Druid and a Psi-Slayer.

Just tone down the really potent powers.

the main thing I wanted was the Charging Ammo ability, and maybe the W.P. Sharpshooting ability.

for the record, are there any books that aren't for Rifts which have the full W.P. Sharpshooting bonuses printed?

Hu2 has everything but the bonuses, BTS2e has the trick shooting bit...

Not the Aimed/Called shot P.P. bonuses...

something like every 3 p.p. over 18, and every 5 over 20 or something.

it would just be nice to have them reprinted somewhere, for clarification.

I had forgotten: I made a copy from New West, and stuck it into My HUII book.

I'm thinking x8 is close and appropriate for base ISP. Your Milage may vary though.

as for ISP progression,
1 = 1D4
2 = 1D6
3 = 2d4
4 = 2d6
and so on.

However from a cold read, I do notice a few benefits to the new ISP system.
* Because it's the base ISP that recovers, character recover ISP faster (becuase they have lower totals)
* As long as they don't touch their base iSP, they have exponentially much more to use. a guy with 9 ISP (Base) gets a further 9 when on an investigation. He could use all 9 or just one or two. If his situation upgrades to x4, he wipes out all his excess over nine and gets a bonus 27. If his sistuation downgrades he's back where he started, but an hour of meditation not only heals some from any he has lost from his base, but allows his multipliers to 'refresh' so to speak.
I had a psychics unlimted campaign running for a few years. a constant problem was rationing the ISP. Characters were burning 30,50 even up to 80ISP in a single fight and then had to wait for all that to recover at a rate of 2-6 per hour. All it takes is an hour if you have rationed well enough.

If I were running a strict BtS game, with the option of other PCCs from the other settings, I would make allowances on a strict case-by-case basis, with the understanding being that the psychis energy rich enviornment of Rifts makes certain psychic characters possible that otherwise could not exist in large numbers in modern times.
In the cases where there are great similarities (like a Firewalker and a Burster), then I would go with the modern character. Some, like the Psi-Slayer, Psi-Nullifier, Mind Melter and Mind Bleeder are probably best left to Rifts, or in the alternative, a game which also drew on HU and Nightbane. BtS has a nice lower powered character fell going on, and I wouldn't want to unbalance that.
