Any Good Ideas on RIFTS Minis?

Unfortunatly modern day and sci fi minis are pretty rare, and decent looking ones are nearly impossible to find. We make do with GW stuff, (the imperial guard minis are a good source for humans.) a few cliffhanger style minis we found awhile back, and fantasy minis. Not pretty, but the best we've been able to come up with.

Some Dragons and other common RCCs would be nice for miniatures. The standard miniature to represent bursters, mindmelters and other non-flashy classes would be nice.

NPC miniatures also, like vampires, brodkil, witchlings, borgs and such.

Iron Wind Metals might be another option, but I've seen only a limited number of their products.

they have some fantasy mini's that would work for a few classes, and pretty much their entire Shadowrun line.

their are a few misc. lines that have decent figs (like a few martial artists, cowboys, bandits, ect....)

and sometimes the Battletech mechs look enough like powered armor to use as such (the Crimson languer for example......)

There's actually more sci-fi minis out there than I thought there were -- and maybe you, too.

You might also look into trying to get a hold of Void 1.1 minis from Urban Mammoth (www.urbanmammoth.com). I saw some really neat ones that would work out for some Rifts figs. And the terrain boxes that I couldn't locate on their site are great (the ones I've seen are pill box bunkers and ruined walls).

Reaper also has a decent line of minis -- a lot of the fantasy monsters can be used for any of the Rifts beasties out there.

Reaper has a lot of very good stuff, we have forty or fifty of their pieces. The only downside to them is the fact that they are in a slightly larger scale then most minis, so compared to them, my old ral pratha minis all look like they didn't get enough protein when they were young...

I second this. Urban Mammoth has some awesome minis that work quite well with Rifts.

Generally speaking, if a monster mini won't do, I typically make my own using a good pic from the books, my sccanner (need a new one btw), and my Adobe software to scale and tweek it just right. The it's print off as many of that type as you want, cut them out (quick and rectangular works just fine), and tape them to a prepared piece of cardboard/paper that you can fold over to make a front, back and base in a triangular shape from profile. The blank back is excelent for identificantion and/or relevant stats. Typically I use book-tape to seal the mini-pics on so I don't have any seams on the face and cut off the excess.

I've made an entire CS Armored Company in this way. And yes, it did take a great deal of time. :-D

Works pretty good. Here are some ideas:

Well, someone stole my thunder and popped up the Warstore. I've started using some the Dark Age minis (they look fantastic, even unpainted) and the Urban War lines.

Shadowrun Minis (pre-Heroclix looking monstrosities).

Another good line is from War Games Foundry. Check the following website for their "Street Violence" line.

They have some great looking figs that are perfect for urban adventures.

Iron Kingdoms: Another great line, especially for Cyber-Knights.

Ebay is a great place to check for minis.

I've got some other sites for scenary/buildings if you want those as well.
