Doctor Feral and Bio Spawn

I was looking through my old TMNT book and came across the stats for old Doc Feral and the Bio Spawn corperation. I remembered alot of campaigns and adventure with him. Both as a GM and player.

I was wonder how instrumantal was he in your mutant animal campaign?

I've run a few campaigns which he was in, he didn't figure very prominently though. I've always found him to be more of a on-the-sidelines continual hassle than a true opponent.

That's how my GM handled him as well. I, on the other hand played him as a major villan to my players. Making him like the Lex Luthor of the TMNT world. Untouchable to the player's characters. All they can do is foil his plans and schemes.

I generally used him in a role where he was more of a nuisance than a full-fledged foe. Once I began running AtB campaigns back in the day (way back in the day) I would find some way to incorporate him whether it be through time travel (Transdimensional TMNT), cryogenics, or something similiar.

I do remember one scenario I had his corporation pitched against TCRI with the players caught in the middle.

Could you imagine him under the power of empire of humanity? Gesh he could be really bad.

Truth be known. I'm surprised the control collars were not being used by the Empire. I figured someone would have rediscovered them. BioSpawn was after all a big corperation in TMNT.

Nothing says you can't implement that in your campaigns.

True, but I'm more surprised that it was not impemented in any of the ATB books. Closest to it was the psycho zombies.

In my early days, playing TMNT&OS, I had a couple nasty run-ins with his minions. Had a wild suburban gun battle with them, me with an M-16, Feral's cronies using MP5's I think they were. The neighbor's house was never the same after I loosed a frag grenade outside the living room window.

Looooong time ago that was, I think I was 8 years old, and my older brother was GM'ing. I don't think either of us had any other books at that time.

The old cartoon was the only reason I knew the Turtles existed. I am a huge fan of the comic now, but I owe that cartoon for showing me the light.

Why can't they update Feral. It was Palladium's character. They just have to omit anything related to Mirage Studios.

Just had an idea on this subject. Read & enjoy.

...after several months of combing through literally hundreds of pre-Crash artifacts, such as magazine publications of various types (several of which I am still convinced were devoted solely to the enticement of younger male humans to engage in strange non-productive mating rituals), I have discovered an 'advertisement' detailing the source of the legendary EGG devices that led to the instigation of the 'Big Death' event that brought about our current world.
Produced by a company called Bio-Spawn, the Embryonic Genome Generator was touted as the 'solution to home labour' by 'creating your own mutant'. The device, displayed in both open/activated and closed/deactivated stages by a scantilly-clad human female (whom I have been perhaps-jokingly told displayed attributes that did not occur in natural breeding), appeared to be similar to other, pre-Crash advertisements for land vehilces; hyping conveinience, simplicity-of-use and affordability (this last part was obscured due to prior damage). The half-dessicated building we initially assumed was a multiple families dwelling called an 'apartment complex' was one of the uncommon semi-intact multi-tiered 'shopping mall' structures that survived the Crash event. Storefronts of particularly garish clothing styles, entertainment devices of many ages, and--by the First! A bookstore? Inconcieveable!--I shall have to investigate this further! Thomas, hand me the prybar...no, the large one. Help me with this slab of masronry--- recording ends.

Doc feral was my fav. villan he could be toned down ( and still give you the creeps) or played to his full potential and wreak havoc. Control collars are going to find a way back into my ATB campaign I'm working on.
(Still running the TMNTAOS books/sourcebooks)

Alot of us would like that too...but don't count on it. AtB just isn't as popular as Palladium's other titles...IMO, there isn't much profit in it. Besides, you don't need EVERYTHING to play Rifts, just the books you want.

Some people would say to that, just don't let them have it. If I didn't, they would leave and as you get older it's harder to find a group of people who enjoy RPGs that aren't mentally deranged so I played along to keep everyone involved happy.

Eventually, after I had about 30 or so books for Rifts I realized the world was alot more crowded than it should have been for the theme (IMO) and it was too detailed (IMO) and didn't leave much room for interpretation. So I sold it all and dusted off the books that originally brought me into Palladium in the first place...Car Wars...I mean TMNT & the original AtB. And when the Robotech license lapsed I saw a perfect opportunity to get into an RPG environment where I'd never have to worry about another world book being written so I bought the entire Robotech library as well.

Thats easy to say if you've got plenty of people lined up to join your group. Unfortunuately I move every few years and as you get older it gets more and more difficult to find peope interested in PnP RPGs that aren't mentally deranged.

I too have these books & do not recall any mention of Doc Feral.

I'd just be happy with an occasional rifter's update on the mutants animals from the supplements
