FADE IN
EXT: EPIC MOUNTAIN TRAIL; SUNSET: GALLAHAN approaches SATSUJIN, hands clasped palms inward. SATSUJIN sharpens a wooden spear as doves flutter away into the sky from thick branches above. They speak, dubbed over voices not in sync with violent lip movements...
GALLAHAN: So, you've done it again Satsujin!
SATSUJIN: Perhaps.
GALLAHAN: But you overlooked ONE style in your computations, and for that insult, the Believers of the Omniscient Lobster have sent me to teach you a lesson! Prepare to fight!
SATSUJIN: Maybe, but only because the Omniscient Lobster does not compare to the Redeemable Coupon. That, and we are not fans of seafood.
But seriously... AWESOME tables!

Some odd names I've come up with over the years (some by random roll, some by intention) include:
Deadly Wasp Style
Form of the Plum
Gizmojutsu
Hillbilly Kung Fu
Squatting Buffalo Style
There you go man, keep as cool as you can. Face piles of trials with smiles. It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave and keep on thinking free.
Oh darn it, I should've included: INFLATIBLE CLOWN to the martial arts styles, but I guess disciples of that style might *get the wind knocked out of them* from time to time. Hehehehehe...

I saw a movie that was recently released, which involved an "age old" epic hero who uses a dark, flying mammal as his totem in order to inspire FEAR into his opponents. This movie was tremendous and much better than any previous (and campy) incarnation of the franchise. The actor truly *became* the character, but the story was amazing.
What gave this movie depth was the fact that the hero traveled to Tibet or somewhere like that and trained with a secret brotherhood of monks. No one would ever suspect that this comic book character would ever have gone to such lengths to find himself, and in the end, man did it pay off.
Anyway, why it applies here is because of the cool name of their League. It was the League of ________. I won't get any more specific because the threat might be removed. The reference is clear if you see the movie, or simply *don't stand in the light.* Hint. I just thought it was a neat slant to take on such an old character.
And the movie, in turn, had a Ninjas and Superspies feel to it.

Is that the one where you operate your "Kung Fu Dude" with two joy sticks to control his moves, such as UP + UP = side kick, UP + DOWN = squating punch? Is that the game? If so... it was cool.

That's been part of his origin since the early 90's.

Does anyone remember that martial arts *classic* called: The Last Dragon? Done waaaaay back in the mid/late 80's. Bruce Leroy? And his arch nemesis Shogun... "Sho-nuff!"
I loved that movie's depiction of the hero's struggle with himself and attaining the final level, whereupon his entire body would be enveloped by "The Glow." As well as his reluctant struggle with Shogun. It was great, when at the end, everyone discovered who the true master was.
It's been a long time since a good martial arts movie like that, set in "modern" times, was made. I don't recall, but was their martial arts style given a name? What did you think of the movie? If you haven't seen it, I'd highly recommend it.
