See I dislike this, because if a guy has Hand to Hand: Basic, he can never learn Aikido, while some guy who plays ten levels with no hand to hand form can suddenly get Aikido, because he doesn't have a primary.
If the guy with no hand to hand goes up ten levels before learning Aikido, more power to him, since he's at a bigger disadvantage in combat than the loser who selected Hand to Hand: Basic.
Originally the concept of Exclusive was supposed to be some bizarre game balance method. However, since the styles so labelled were often less "powerful" than Non-Exclusive styles, this made no sense in terms of game balance. Now with the DMA supposedly being the only class that can learn "Exclusive" styles, the whole point is theoretically rendered moot anyway.

I wasn't under the impression that any character could change their fighting styles: Primary, Secondary, Exclusive or Non-Exclusive, All selections are final.

There's nothing to say they can't, and if you can get training, it's like learning any other skill.

Yeah, actually, there is. And no, martial art styles are not like learning any other skill.
Definitely not in real life, and not in the game either...
In real life though, you can decide to give up Tai Chi for tae Kwon Do. You might go from a acrobatic Wu Shu style to Brazillian Jujutsu.
Or, you may keep your style of choice, and just add one, like Jeet Kune Do.

Yes, you can, but it'd be a bad idea....most professionals will tell you to pick one and master it, making it the base of your style....then learn its opposite to some degree...in other words, fill in the gaps of your base style...
Some people, Like Bruce Lee, Al Dacascos, Malia Bernal, Dan Inosanto, Bill Wallace, and Joe Lewis were able to excellently embrace new styles along with their own.
Admittedly, this is not a game mechanic that works well in Palladium.
