All good books, I like the second trilogy best.
Startide Rising and Uplift War both show a how animal instincts could translate into culture for an "intelligent" spicies.
After reading the last I was courious if Brin was going to write a book about Jijo and the galaxy it is in. (sorry for the vague comment. I don't want to give anything away.)

Al the uplift books are a good read.
But I have one corection about that artical in the link. HUmans were discovered during the time they were uplifting chipms and dolphins. not after. It is a critcal distinction, because it does play into the story. And another thing that just gets the galatctics riled up is that the humans have made their 'client races' full and equal partners in their sosiety. (This is because of all the Anti-Slavery sentiment that the humans have developed)
