Transportation?

Unread post by RockJock »

What does your group use for transportation? Are they globe hoppers with the equal of the Avengers Qunjet, or X-Men's Blackbird? Or are they restricted to a commercial helicoptor or scheduled flights? Do you have a combat van like the Punisher, or a suped up motorcycle like Captain America?

There has to be a Good Will for super heroes that keeps that sort of thing from happening.:)

Okay, you've got a couple of choices from the musical stylings of Graeme Revell, The Crow OST or the Daredevil OST :)

I favor the prowling/run across rooftop method of transport, and style my cities to allow that, along with small scale grapling gear to cover the gaps.

depends on the group really.

In my mega game (which is less mega than others seem to have), the teen heroes used an aircar with a transferred intelligence driving.

In my NYC game, the character get around...umm...by hook or by crook. Occasionally they get portals opened, but that's rare and unreliable. Otherwise they have a couple of >Ahem< liberated vans. Oh and the NY subway system.

In LA, The sonic speedster will dash ahead, while the others beg, borrow or steal transport from the local MET office.

Boston is too street scaled to worry about long distance travel, but the base does have a powerboat and a 1940's ford with a time machine engine.

Our main group, The Power Alliance has SST planes, short and medium range sub-sonic planes, hovercycles, and a small fleet of conventional vehicles (Lexus, Infiniti, Town Cars) that are current to the year of the game (2012).

And here I thought the Gulfstream was lowtech, but then you look at the flying dumpster and I just have to scratch my head.

Well, one of my heroes had a gun-blued Delorian...

Another group I played in, the mad scientist of the group built a time machine (more dimension; it never did manage time travel) out of an Austin Mini Cooper (the real one, not this modern remade thing).

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE! at the bus stop...

Now I have a vision of a bunch of people in spandex and capes standing in a bus shelter, trying to come up with exact change...

In the two HU games I'm in they use the Doc's Train to live in and move from town to town.

In the 2nd, every one bums a ride off of my char, sence he is the only one with a car. (teen game)

Damn ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol! Damn everyone who won’t damn ICE/BCP/Border Patrol!! Damn everyone that won’t put lights in his windows and sit up all night damning CE/BCP/BorderPatrol!!!
If you support ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol at this point, you would have called the Gestapo on the people surreptitiously moving into your neighbor's attic and huffed that you were only following the law.

Flying Disc is a really cool power that is very under-utilized.

True enough: Sentinel gets around by making prodigious leaps, or by catching a ride on his allies vehicles.

The flying disc should be a sub power of many of the majors, but while it is cool to have it's ...power is limited. Now if you could turn it onto your arm and use it as a sheild, that would make it better. Or have it have it's own gravitational plane, or stiky feet so you and your passanger don't fall off.

my teams in the past.. had used a Rogue Starship, Gravity wells, Blink Pools, Zeppelins, and sky cicles and mutant with Sonic speed powers Have been couriers...

Mostly though, .. Starship was the most favored form of transportation ( stealing or otherwise recovering one from another alien race)

Seradan wrote:My group had a small character with no strength whatsoever using Gem Powers to fly, pulling along the rest who had Gravity Powers used on them... She was their propulsion system..

The other option was to have the SN PS character throw them, since one had intangibility, one invulnerability and a third with APS: Smoke or Mist... So they could get vaguely in the proximity, mostly intact... Except for the poor SN PS character who was then stuck trying to find a way...

Use the Leaping guidelines found under the Super-Brawling section of the HU GMG for characters with Supernatural PS: I believe it is PS X 40'.
