It's tricky but I choose ley line walker - they are just so versatile.
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

I'd be a Shifter from Dark Conversions so I could have those permanent demon followers.

Of the options I went with Ley Line Walker, but out of them all I'd go with a Vanguard Waylayer.

So, what's up with no entry for Ley Line Rifter?

I'll pick that, because no one else has, and because their stowaway power is cool.

They're more combat orianted. So much so they could even get the Annhilation spell from go. Sure PPE would be a problem to cast something that big at level one, but there are ways.

Mystic or Old Believer.
I'd get up in the morning and watch the sun rise over the yardarm of my sky-ship as the sails billowed in the breeze and the land slid by 300-odd metres below. I'd grasp the mahogany ship's wheel, turn her nose a few points back onto the line, and feel pity for all those poor bastards below who have to work for a living. - My idea of the good life in Rifts.

Shifter...as others said...get me off this crazy ride.

Overall though, I'd prefer to be a Mystic Knight..."lets stay on this ride, and have some fun!"

Yep, definitely TW for me too. They're just so much cooler than any of the other mages (and WWII era flight suits are so much more fashionable than robes and gas masks).

What no entry for "Why the hell would I play a Mage".

But since that not an option I will go with HEADHUNTER, they are just so much better than a mage (in MY opinion).

With the new RUE rules I vote TW all the way...can create practically anything and can cast useing "Focus Items" without penalties to damage, duration, or range.

I voted Techno-Wizard. With the ability to create items & learn any spell, they're arguably the greatest of mages!

I'd like a Conjourer or Battle mage, but since there not on the list I'll go TW because you can actually have nice paycheck. (seen the cost for TW items?)

I have played a Ley Line Walker a long time ago, and it was a grand old time. My second Rifts PC-ever! I have fond memories of him in the Lazlo Intelligence Agency (LIA'rs to you! )
It is just too cool to pass up a chance to play a Ley Line Walker again, given the chance. My second choice would be the new Shifter, just for the Trans-Dimensional exploration abilities.
Third Choice for me is the Techno-Wizard. I kinda like making Items that the Party can use, and thus be of use to the Party.
I'm just not the Mystic type. To just have Powers and never really try to learn more about them or to expand upon them with more spells...Well, I guess I'm a bookworm at heart. 8)

I know I said Ley Line Rifter earlier, but I always thought the Spatial Mage was very interesting, and came with fewer attached difficulties than Temporal Mage.

I don't have RUE, so I'm basing my response off the venerable RMB...

MYSTIC -- I wouldn't have to rely on hunting down a spellbook/mentor to get new spells. Plus, psychic powers are automatically part of the deal.

Failing that, I'd be a Battle Magus. :ok:
