many appologies. Real Life happening, and other projects ( like this; http://palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2462591#p2462591 for example) keeping me from updating the travel log of Phoneix force Alpha [and friend(s)]. I Hope to get caught up with the back-log sometime this week, but I make absolutely NO promisses.

I want taalismn to join the game because he is smart, funny, creative and knows what makes a good story.
Taalismn join Phoenix Force! XD
See if Dark will let you start with the book of 2'000 and I shall protect you unto my dying breath!
Disclaimer: I have only read the blurb on Heroes of the Megaverse on this site, I don't own the book and I could be talking ****. I just thought it sounded cool! ^_^

Problem is, Taalismn doesn't seem to have much time for actual gaming (or so I've been told ). Writing, sure...but actually sitting down and rolling the polyhedrals of causality manipulation or engaging the dyce-bawtz? I am assuming he's still in same situation of daily grind, followed by getting his muse to shut up and then promptly passing out

Entirely and too true. When not working or writing, I'm sketching and reading(and I have a LOT of reading material...just saved a dozen or so issues of Aviation Heritage from being consigned to the landfill, so who am I to pass up free reading?). Believe me, it's more fun than it sounds. You see, I have tag-team muses.

It's like those animation flip-books. Move through them fast enough, and you see progress and action, the illusion of life. Take the time to focus on one still image, and you realize the artist is a bit of jerk...

But that's what killed me the last time. I was existing happily with a gaping cavity in my chest were my heart was, mentioned it to a friend and he's all like "man you should go to a doctor" so I go to a doctor and he tells me you can't live without your heart. Whamo, dead, right where I stand. It was horrible.

That's it; Paladin Steel is also going into the coffee business. We have the transport network, we have the ships, we have acess to other dimensions/planets, we can build the grinders and roasters, and our military-engineer society already runs on the stuff.

We spent between 10-15 minutes in character drinking coffee. It was a rather mundane scene but great for future emotional flashbacks material.

A1 - Question

by Akashic Soldier
I'd like to know your thoughts on the A1 - Avenger from Dimension Book 3 (Page 70).
When I first read their description I kind of felt bad that the Naruni had pushed their creator to suicide and although I can't prove it I suspect from the A1's design that he may have been inspired by the Cosmic Forge which would also explain why the Naruni cannot replicate the lost technology. As you can see they really are beautiful machines and it is a shame they are going to become nothing more than a distant memory. So I wanted to know if you think that it would be appropriate if Anon collected them like some folks collect old cars or if you feel that would be a concept better reserved as the motivation for an entirely new character?
Of course as far as I know there is no way I could actually get my hands on them or the credits I need to get one but it COULD be something I COULD do. I myself and unsure if it would really be a worthwhile edition to the game or enrich my character at all. Though it could raise some interesting questions such as... is actually taking these weapons (assuming they were inspired by the Forge) and putting them in a room and NOT using them the right thing to do?
Of course if you think that this is just too much that's totally fine. I am still unsure if worth being a "side thing" for my character or if its a motivation worth of making a whole other character for (for another game of course). However if this is an idea you like and think I should go with it... *Foresees antagonistic NPC's in A-1's and cries* I have an alignment question.
Anon is principled; his life up until this point has been simple. I'm going to try to keep him principled for as long as I can but I suspect he will end up Scrupulous despite my best efforts. However this is beside the point, the question is: normally it would be against a principled persons ethics to take equipment from a fallen enemy but would it be (considering the rarity of the A-1 and IF Anon believes they are being misused) be against his alignment to liberate/steal these machines from his enemies?
This isn't really a big deal and honestly and with all the plots going on at the moment I strongly doubt we need more and it might just take away from the character a little (I am not sure) but I just really think they are impressive machines and I feel it kind of sucks that they are irreplaceable. Of course there are all sorts of ethical questions if they were weapons inspired by the Forge and they're supposed to be getting used by people out in the Cosmos and Anon is keeping them gathering dust in display cases but that is not realistically something he would think of himself, someone would have to tell him... and by that point the damage might already be done.

-eeeeeeeeerrrrrmmm-ummmmmmm- -sigh- No real polite way to say this; I bloody hate the things...and the reason for it is actualy quite petty. The artwork for it SUCKS!
I mean, it is cheese beyond limberger fromage grande in appearence... and I tend to LIKE Vince Martin artworks. Yes yes yes yes, I know that's not how it is described in the fluffy-text but I am an EXTREMELY visual oriented person. If something is illustrated poorly, it does NOT exist. I feel the same way about those gawd-awful naruni enforcer power suits, the Tzee (in fact, In-game their entire race was Exterminatus simultaeneously across the entire tri-gal system), and the invaders (a tusk pointing straight down and back so they can never look down? Riiiiggghhht "BIG threat" there ).
So, long story short, the Avengers never existed.
They have been excised from my campign verse and never-were / never-been.

Please re-read explanation, and understand, when I, as a GM sate this twice... it does NOT exist. No ammount of justifications ,arguments or pleadings will get me to acknowledge it in-game. Ever. Ditto with the Invaders (species; their gear can stay).

Man, I wasn't challenging your call or pleading I was just going to bring up the material/content to make conversation. Like I said in my first post I am totally cool with you not going for it. I was just surprised you didn't like their look.
Also, I am not even sure I know who the invaders are? (I have a tendency to flip, spot something I think looks cool, then read on.) [What Book are they in? like 10 pages of my phaseworld book are water damaged beyond a point where I can read them so if they're there I might not even be able to see them]
What about their look is that you don't like? Is it the helmet or the style? Again, I'm not challenging you... just trying to understand your point of view. Clearly you hate them and this is the first thing that I've heard you actually say you hate so I'd like to know so I can better understand you as an individual.

Pg 48 & 49 of Phaseworld Source book (Dimension book 3) These are Scott Jhonson Illos; now, in HIS case, it wasn't not following the text (they are EXACTLY as described) but there is no way in any bio-system or ecology they'd survive beyond a single generation with THAT dental layout And yes, the artwork is UGLY / silly as sin regardless

The monster version looks like it could be a genuine beastie encounter... and then I turned the page... and I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Unfortunately for their evolution these guys have an even bigger problem than sabre tooth's--that big central tooth means they can only eat through the side of their mouth... oh wait... they have a frontal mouth.
I don't even know what else to say about them. I'm looking at their IQ of 4D6+6 and thinking that it is almost cruel to give such a deformed creature such a brilliant mind.

[The village of the dead, the city time forgot and a tall pale-rider.]
After stopping over and un-impounding the Landale 2, Fionna & Rika rushed off to regroup with the rest of the team (who were in the middle of dealing with a NewEarthMilitaryAalliance marine ambush). Fortunately, the ambush failed and the enemy sappers had to retreat. After landing and recovering the rest, Team Alpha continued further into the Valley of Mazes only to discover a native Motavian village completely slaughtered. The cause of such destruction was one of the copies the NEMA had made of Uno-Rez; the Azreals or ‘Death Angels’. After a short but intesne battle, defeating the robotic advesary, the Laadle 2 took off so the group could recupperate and re-arm. Later the next day, they tracked the invaders via psionic remote viewing and clairvoyance to a blank valley wall. Shalyndra, having been trained to detect the signs, commented that she ‘felt’ a recently opened “web-way portal” in the rock-face. A concerted effort by both elf maid and human psychic (doing a soul-regression to bring forth knowledge from one of her past lives) managed to open the gateway. Running forwards they entered and began to walk through the half material half astral passage ways, taking a few wrong turns until they entered a grand entrence chamber; http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/181/9/9/Call_of_the_Webway_by_MajesticChicken.jpg This surprised Rika, Fionna and Shalyndra for various reasons; Rika especially since she had no idea the space fairing elf-kin had even visited the Algol system, let along been there long enough to create a colony. Their musings were inturupted by an small hunting pack of Shadow Beasts; again easily defeated. The noise caused by the melee prompted the team to hurry up and go through the doorway that they had psychicly ‘seen’ the NEMA platoon go through. Again they stopped to gape at the scene before them when they entered the underground city proper. http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/418832_3157318049747_1169109879_33378459_1266357178_n.jpg Feeling they needed to get to cover quickly, Shalyndra and Rika ghosted forwards and eventually they found an open tower near the central square. Just as Archangel (the last of the team, taking tail position) entered the building, a NEAMA’n assault mech, roughly the size and shape of a Triax Jaeger, flew backwards past the stauarry firing behind it. 20 minutes after the machine flew away, the lights in the city went out as a massive pulse of ley-line enegry discharged. Peeking over the sill of the upper floor’s window, Archangel saw a lone, unarmored exo-skelleton; an industrial robot frame with a lone human male strapped in, and looking very very confused. The unknown human male called out over his loud speakers and turned on his line of halogen spotlights. Wincing, the entirety of Phoenix Force Team Alpha knew they had a ‘babe in the woods’ scenario. It was time to earn their pay and “save the squishy”.
~*.*~
Anon Wilks, having just finished opening the blocked entrance to Shaft 8 of the Silvereno mines (at the behest of an anonymous client to the mining company he worked for) could only stare at the vista before him. No way he was still in Colorado…no way he could even be in North America. Just where in the heck was he?
The date is unknown.

Amusingly enough, that seems to be the standard way that Phoenix Force (any of the teams) meets their prospective "best" new recruits. 'Cuz only loonies, sociopaths or outright masochists actualy go to the recruitment office first to sign up.
