“You’re very fortunate, young lady! Your ship crashed right outside the Syrtis Mars Colony! They had a rescue team on your position in minutes! A hundred miles to any side of us and by the time they’d have gotten to you, you’d have been too gone to revive! As it was, we almost lost you! Thankfully, this colony has an excellent trauma center and we’ve benefitted from experience with decompression, hypoxia, and other deep space injuries.”
She blinked as she sucked at the welcome flow of warm air fed to her through the air mask she was wearing. The older female sitting next to her bed was radiating enthusiasm and relief, but also a certain cautiousness. Understandable, if your first contact with alien life resulted in your planet being bombed. But she didn’t remember anything about a colony on this system’s fourth planet....had the natives proven unexpectedly resilient enough to drive their enemies back enough to hold on to offworld colonies? Or was this a last secret refuge, prepared in secret?
Her head still hurt, her body still ached. She was confused, and she stil had something to do...

“...no...” Gamilons weren’t particularly tall and while their ships were sometimes green, it wasn’t a consistent thing.

“Princess Astra, of Iscandar.”
“Doctor Cassandra Frazier, United Earth Defense Forces, Syrtis Colony. Glad to meet you.”

Ten years later....

“Micronian fleet approaching, milords!”
“Raise the barriers and target their main units for offensive fire as soon as they come within range.”

“Tirolian Mothership coming over the planetary horizon.”
”Status of the main gun?”
“Charged and ready to fire, sir!”
“Very good. Clear the aperature, gunner, and await my signal to fire.”
In the bow of the Improved Bloc II TriStar, armored plates slide aside, revealing a dark co-axial weapon barrel. Deep inside the bowels of the ship, and aboard two other ships similar to it in the fleet formation, tachyons begin a convoluted dance, building pressure...

Yes...this could be a case of :
a) Canon Iscandar...in another universe, with Princess Astra’s courier ship skipping into another (the Robotech) universe. In which case, the Wave Motion Engine-equipped SDF sent to Iscandar isn’t going to find anything there. Canon SBY Earth is, without the message and the WME schematics, hosed.

b) Canon Iscandar, same as above, only Princess Astra’s ship was somehow duplicated in the misFold, or hit a wormhole with similar effect. Canon Astra manages to get to Earth, dies, but Space Battlship Yamato rises!

c) Canon Iscandar, only the universe jump can be duplicated in reverse. Canon SBY crew very confused and startled to find an SDF and small escort fleet claiming to be from Earth arriving at Iscandar at the same time as they. Cue major canon-collapse.

d) NonCanon Iscandar(very unlikely)---Got their facts about Earth confused. The Gamilons in this case are being squeezed out by the Tirolians and the Zentraedi, with only sneaky tactics like space minefields and SMITE units keeping them from being wiped out completely. With the collapse of the Tirolian Empire due to Protoculture depletion, the Gamilons are now surging back to take advantage of the power vacuum, along with other canon SBY enemies like the Bolides and Cometine Empire fighting over the scraps, and making the Robotech Wars a LOT more aggravating(the wars against the Invid Regent, for instance, taking on a three-way nature as advance elements of the Gamilons, Bolides, and Cometines showing up).

And to head off the inevitable question; Canon SBY Earth is more advanced courtesy of being argiably more advanced along their timeline(and remember, they were able to build entire underground cities while being bombed, whereas even with peace, Canon R-Earth only got one geofront-based Grand Cannon operation in ten years). Pre-Yamato, SBY Earth might have held the lead in space weapons and technology with a slight edge. However, pre-Rain of Death R-Earth quickly catches up due to the big infusion of Tirolian technology and the acquisition of Robotech Factory Satellites. IQ-9/Analyzer not withstanding, R-Earth seems to have the lead in robotics, is about neck and neck in fighter technology, and definitely has better ground military forces, armed with power armor and superior weapons. Fleet-wise, the prevalence of wave motion cannons in SBY’s EDF makes up for the lower throw-weight and poor siting of weapons per individual units, versus the generally higher number of mecha deployed from UEDF/UEEF units. And no Robotech vessel has anywhere near the character/plot shielding of the Yamato. In any engagement involving the SBY Yamato, unless opposing UEDF/UEEF forces have the element of surprise, or Kodai really @@@@s up, the Yamato will pull a hattrick and survive.

:ok: Nicely done! And ya, short of an SDF class vessel, or maybe one of the cruisers for the New Generation, the Yamato could take on almost anything in its weight class or heavier and win.

On the plus side, aside from the Moon(where, we know from Sandor's account, there was at least an amusement park) , SDY Earth doesn't have any offworld colonies. They have military and scientific outposts, but not full-blown colonies. LIkely because all the good real estate is already claimed, or already being eyed by folks like the Gamilons. On the other hand, SBY Earth citizens seem to have a lot more ready access to casual space travel(lunar amusement park, sun-cruises from Earth to the inner solar system, etc.).
R-Earth on their side at least has outworld colonies on Mars, Tirol, and other locations, but space travel is primarily military-industrial and still very much government controlled and limited.

Now here's the problem with the W.M.G.; HOW exactly does one deal with it in an RP situation?
Beacuse it blows up a Texas sized planetoid with no real effort, yet barely scratches the surface of the Comet Empire citidel.
MEANWHILE...the primary weapon of a Macross class vessel (or Zentraedi for that matter) seems to also have the whole "is as destructive as the director feels it should be" syndrome. :frust:
Makes it very hard for a fluff-text writer / GM to get a grasp on it.
Since the whole "Destroys everything" isn't always so for either weapon system / setting. :-?

Also won't happen if Rick is in charge. Either he will see Kodai and recognize a kindred spirit, or Okita will still be around and he will recognize another young sucker he can manipulate to get his way...and Rick will fall for it too.

No, the big question here is if Lisa is in charge. I can't see her being so accepting of Okita manipulating things, or Kodai winging it every time. That might start a war right there!

Either way, the amount of point defense an SPY vessel has compared to like anyone else will be a real shocker to the UEEF forces!

Are you talking about the old version, because in the new one, Okita dosn't seem that way at all. He just seems like an old sailor, who, most likely is tired of war and seeing people under his command being killed.

i think he's talking of the live action version, where Okita is a Magnificent bastard who manipulated everyone involved.

Sadly the only translation I managed to find was in french...
THANKFULLY being raised canuck, I could understand at least one word in 5, so I got the gist of what was going on.
That and I knew the original and yank-i-fied 'Stargrazers' versions. :P

Though I couldn't understand why Dessler and Starsha were blue-energy thingme's...that didn't translate well into frog-speak. :frust: :erm:

pretty sure it was done as "creative interpritation" and "hey, we have a budget!".. unknown aliens who just happen to look perfectly human aside from bodypaint might still be used for lower budget stuff (or on long running stuff.. see Star Trek for examples of both  ), but when you have a major motion picture that already has a huge CGI budget, making the aliens alien, though not so alien that people get totally squicked out is the approach nowadays.

personally i loved how they handled the starships.. taking the Battlestar Galactica quasi-realism approach helped offset some of the sillyness of the basic premise and original elements. and the Black Tiger fighters looked awesome when they were flying around. though i thought the Cosmo Zero looked kinda silly... then again i hated the banshee Fighters fro mthe Battletech cartoon, which seem to have been the inspiration for it. the original SBY fighter of the name would have been so much cooler to see.

I never liked the original Cosmo Zero...it looked like it was designed for RAMMING.
The live-action version was marginally more tolerable in that it tried to look like a Russian Berkut fighter with the swept-forward wings, but the 'shotgun hinge' body was wasted, especially after the success in making the Cosmo Tigers(which face it, are your basic lifting body bricks) look good...

The 2199 reboot version of Cosmo-Zero actually looks kinda cool (though I still have no clue as to why it has that damned pointy thing dead center nose; it doesn't LOOK like a sensor mast :erm: ). I like the fact it has as primary weapon what looks to be a hypervelocity single-slug railgun where that lens/scoop/W.E.t.H.i.W. dead center nose on the original. That and they now carry BIG missiles.

Ya it does look cool. Wish they would continue it instend of stopping at ep. 6 or 7. Looks like we will have to wait till 2013, if I remember right. Hopefully it will be early 2013 and not late 2013.

An hour ago, the female crew of the SDF-3 rushed off in a boarding attack on the Catian Mothership, (having lost the Reflex Cannon when Eris hit it with her Quasi Anti-Matter Mallet).

The guys gather on the flight deck as a Catian shuttle lands...

Out the shuttle comes a group of Assist-A-Roids carry out a large box. The minute they place it on the deck it disappears and in it's place is Lisa the rest of the crew women, buck naked but unharmed.

Max: "You guys forgot what Lang said about Quasi Anti-Matter, didn't you?"

Assist-A-Roid: (Holds up a sign towards Rick that says Upset?)

Rick: "Oddly, no." :)

It's TimeLoop Time!

“Rick, why is Mister Garibaldi and his security crew personally seeing us off Babylon Five?”
“Making sure we leave, and don’t come back, Max.”
“Why’s that? We were on the station barely a day!”
“Blame Lisa.”
“Hey!”
“Okay, what did Lisa do?”
“Agitated a fight with the Vree. A big fight.”
“Oh?”
”As in ‘flaming arrow’ or ‘Arsus Flammatorius’ big. As in prying people out of bulkheads big.”
”Ouch. Yeah, I can see Mister Garibaldi getting upset about something like that.”
“Yeah, that’s what I said.”
“Lisa, what have you got against the Vree?!”
”They remind her too much of the Reticulans.”
“Oh,? I don’t recall hearing of those on the station.”
“Because they aren’t. They’re ‘Roswell Greys’.”
“I got in a few solitary Loops without you guys, but with those Greys in them. The Loops weren’t so bad except that somehow the Reticulans sensed I ‘wasn’t part of their continuum’, and they got obnoxiously curious. I’d be minding my own business and would step through a door, or doze off on my couch, and WHOOSH!; I’d suddenly find myself in some laboratory surrounded by the little bastards! No sense of decency! Off would come my clothes and out come the probes! Or rather in! Going places only one man's allowed to go! And a few places NOBODY'S SUPPOSED to go!” :x
“Ouch...”
“You have no idea! Three days’ straight invasive procedures once before they let me go! I couldn’t sit for a week! Then a few more days later, some other team would dispute the findings of the first, or they’d remember some test they hadn’t done the first time and AGAIN! I’m on one of their operating tables when I should be sleeping or at work! Got fired from several jobs that way, because I failed to show up for work! I got myself on a ‘do not abduct’ list and they STILL came after me! Completely ignored the damn thing! Got to the point where I founded SHADO a few times just to keep the grey bastards from kidnapping me again!”
“And the Vree?”
“One of them touched her.”
“The little $%$**%% GROPED me! That was just too much! It's a conspiracy I say! A conspiracy! Vengeance I say! Vengeance!” :badbad:

Yeah; occasionally somebody ELSE notices the TimeLoopers, especially after they get a thousand or so Loops worth of power-up, and start standing out to those sensitive to such things. That can make things awkward when they come knocking. Sure, they're left behind when the Loop resets, but until then, they can make a Loop more interesting than it has to be.

Our local state race has the choice between a factually-challenged incumbent and a wrestling promoter with too much money trying to buy the election. The latter's PR campaign is getting so intrusive and obnoxious that if I hadn't already made up my mind I'd have voted against on the basis of 'familiarity breeds total contempt' . Worse, I got a call for the third time and I miffed my opportunity to harangue some luckless campaign worker about how exactly they've poisoned my mind and turned me into a political anarchist("EAT THE RICH!!!").

A statesman is a guy who says what he believes and stays by them, no matter how the polical wind blows. He doesn't go around asking what people what want and believe, he already knows what he believe and says so, vote for him or not. I know this, our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves right now. Anyways, enough politcs, back to crossovers! :D

THE READING OF THE WILL OF LISA HAYES-HUNTER

Present in the room:
Rick Hunter
Lynn Minmei
Lynn Kyle
T.R. Edwards

J.A.N.I.C.E. (Executrix)
Gnea, Bella, Dana & Maya Stirling (Executrix's Assistants)

J.A.N.I.C.E.: (Reading the will) "Lynn Minmei, for being a trollop and a general source of annoyance and frustration, I hereby being of sound mind, bequeath a BOOTTOTHEHEAD!"

*THWACK!!!*

Gnea delivers a devastating roundhouse kick to Minmei's head sending her flying across the room.

J.A.N.I.C.E.: (Continuing) "Lynn Kyle, for constantly reminding me of my dead lover and yet continually denigrating my being in the military, I hereby bequeath a BOOTTOTHEHEAD!"

*SWISH!!!*

Bella delivers a lightning fast spin kick to Kyle's head nearly taking it off.

J.A.N.I.C.E.: (Continuing) "Rick Hunter, for waffling between me and that slut RIGHT UP TIL THE DAY WE MARRIED, I hereby bequeath a BOOTTOTHEHEAD!"

*KRACK!!!*

Gnea and Bella deliver spin kicks meeting Rick's head in the middle.

J.A.N.I.C.E.: (Continuing) "T.R. Edwards, for being a general SOB, I hereby bequeath that this genetically engineered Rabid Tasmanian Devil be placed in your trousers!"

Dana and Maya, wearing Cyclones, gingerly remove this spitting hissing furry buzz-saw from Prof. Lang's Hyperdense Animal Carrier and drop it into Edward's pants.

Lisa: "Yawn! Hey guys, what's with all the noise?"

Everyone looks stunned.

J.A.N.I.C.E.: "I do not understand. You said you were dead!?!"

Lisa: "No, I said I was dead tired. I was trying to sleep."

Gnea: (holding Minmei's battered form) "Does this mean we have to stop kicking people?"

Lisa: "Oh, carry on. I'm up now."

Noticing Edwards, rolling on the floor, screaming, banging on his pants with a hammer and begging for death.

Lisa: "Is that the Tasmanian Devil? It's amazing what Lang and the Regis can do working together in the Genesis Pit." 8)

Actually, I believe that most of the Evas have 5 minutes of emergency power (when the giant extension cord is cut) which can be extended with giant battery packs.

(Meanwhile, on Barsoom)

Lisa Hayes fumed. She was surrounded by barbarians.
She’d been manhandled from beast to beast, then onto some sort of vehicle, and finally into some sort of structure, finally dumping her in a cell. They’d ignored all her questions, threats, demands, and entreaties. She’d violently protested when they’d undone the latches on her helmet, and had almost choked when they pried it off, sure she was about to suffocate decompression-style. Her captors might have LOOKED human, but everything she’d previously known said Mars had a thin, unbreathable atmosphere. So, she’d been rightly shocked when after a few wheezing breathes and a passing moment of dizziness, she found she was still breathing...admittedly, panting in what tasted like mountain-thin air, but breathable air. That discovery was appreciated only for a moment, because shortly afterwards her panting had turned to outraged screaming and yelling when they’d starting pulling on the closures of her EVA suit and working to peel her out of it.
She’d put up a fight, and she’d been surprised as everybody else when her outraged kick had sent one of her captors flying into a wall, to crash to the floor in a clatter of his own metalmongery.
Superior strength, she’d later deduced; Mars might suddenly seem to have a breathable atmosphere, but it still had a gravity one-third of Earth’s. These people, if they’d been raised on Mars, would be a lot less densely muscled than somebody born and raised in Earth’s heavier gravity.
She might have capitalized on her discovery to use it to escape, but at the time, though, she’d been fairly astonished, and her captors had recovered their wits too quickly, and just overwhelmed her with more numbers than her basic hand to hand skill training could cope with.
In the end, she’d been stripped out of her EVA suit down to her underwear anyway, then shackled and handcuffed into a set of remarkably light but very tough restraints, before her guards had marched her off to an audience with some obviously high-ranked muck-amuck.
It didn’t take too much of enduring tall-dark-and-menacing’s incomprehensible-but-obviously-threatening monologuing that degenerated into leering stares to impress on her that this was NOT a good place to be.
And no apparent chance of escape.

(Three weeks later)

“You’re sure that’s where the ‘pale-skinned’ captive was taken?”
“Quite sure. It has been the talk of Zodanga for weeks now! Sab Than has been very proudly exhibiting his latest entertainment, his prize captive, with him when he makes his public appearances before the people! Most assuredly, she is being held there in the palace tower of Sab Than, Rick Hunter of Earth!”
Rick Hunter looked at the pointed-out feature on the MASSIVE vehicle-city that was churning up the dry ocean bottom, and stifled a groan. The mission looked daunting to say the least, and was probably well beyond his capabilities, but he had no way of contacting the SDF-1, wherever it had gone, and going back empty-handed was not a happy prospect anyways.
Flying by the seat of my pants on this one...just wish I had a plane to be flying...or pants for that matter...

(One year later)

Roy Fokker looked at the sleek little flier that settled to the deck of the SDF-1. A beautiful looking little craft that Roy would have loved to take aloft. But the really intriguing thing was the UEDF ‘fighting kites’ emblazoned on its swept-back fins.
It had been the only vehicle of a flotilla of the local craft that had approached the SDF-1 where it was at its mountain ‘anchorage’. A big squadron of the local flying ‘battleships’ that had shown up on long range radar heading right for the Super Dimensional Fortress, but which had stopped in place when Captain Gloval had scrambled the CAPs to intercept. The battleships were still holding position, just floating at the edge of sight on the horizon, but they’d sent the single small flier in, flying white flags.

Seeing that, Gloval had allowed the small craft to be directed to a landing atop the Daedalus arm, where it now rested, surrounded by mecha and security troops.

The two passengers jumped smartly out of the little craft and walked towards the greeting party, unafraid of the guns pointing in their general direction.
“Commander Lisa Hayes and Corporal Rick Hunter reporting!”
THAT raised a stir.
Lisa Hayes seemed to have filled out and grown tan, a fact made abundantly clear by what she was ALMOST wearing, which looked like leather, silk, and metal arranged to cover the necessities but not much more.
Roy’s inspection immediately shot to her companion, now pulling a pair of flier’s goggles off his head. Rick Hunter was almost dressed in as little as Lisa Hayes, and that mostly leather and metal. It also showed he was just as tanned as she was, and somewhere in the intervening year he’d gained some muscle.
He’d also gained a few scars as well, including a faded, but still-wicked-looking, one across his face, and another big one on one of his shoulders.
It had been after some cautious questioning, a security search that both of the returned UEDF soldiers had stoically endured, albeit with obvious growing impatience, that somebody had finally decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and affirmed that they were who they claimed to be. While preparations were made to take them inside for debriefing, they’d been allowed to ssecure their small craft and its contents, albeit with a close guard. Roy had abused his rank to be part of that security detail, dismounting from his Skull-One to join the foot-infantry, and get to Rick’s side.
“Hey, Rick, can’t say how much I’m glad to see you’re still alive.”
“Hey, Roy, glad to be back, even if it means you guys are still stuck here.”
“Couldn’t be helped. Nice ride you got here...what happened to your old one?”
“Couldn’t be helped. You know how accurate the local marksmanship is?”
“Yeah. Don’t we.”
“Learned it the hard way just after Sara.”
“Looks like you and Lisa went native.”
“Had to, after we lost our gear. Lisa lost her EVA suit and radio when it was confiscated by the Zodangans and I lost my ship following her comm...right into a local trap, as it turned out. When we finally got away. the SDF-1 had already moved. We would have tried to go back to get replacements from Mars Base Sara, but for that whole place was still crawling with Zentraedi and Warhoons.”
“Still is. That nut Khyron and the Warhoons seem to have a real hate-on for each other.”
“Sounds like a match made on Barsoom.”
“The dueling scar?” Roy gestured at Rick’s face.
“Got that when my fighter got shot down. The local marksmanship’s pretty lethal.”
Roy nodded. He’d learned to respect the local gunnery. As tough as Robotech-produced armor was, the various flavors of locals seemed to quickly learn that it had weak spots as well, and they’d sportingly taken to sniping at exposed joints, sensor windows, and hatchways.
After powering down his Barsoomian craft, Rick Hunter turned and began hauling bundles out of the back of the flier.
“What’s all that?”
“Polar Apt furs. Very luxurious. They’re Lisa’s and no way she’s giving them up, what after we went through to get them.”
“...?!”
“Damn thing and its mate chased us for five days before we managed to kill it. Good thing our guide knew how to properly skin the things and save the pelts. Kept us in food and skins for the rest of the trek. And trust me; these things are WARM on a cold Barsoomian night.”
Roy’s eyebrow rose. If they were Lisa’s, how’d Rick know how warm they were...? Might have to test this, even if it meant potentially setting off a bad mood...
“Ah, Rick...about Minmei.”
“What about her?”
“She’s...ah, we thought you and Commander Hayes were dead, and...”
“Who’s she with?”
“Some new recruit pilot by the name of Dixon.”

“Well, that saves me some awkwardness.”
“You’re taking this remarkably well.”
“I’ve had to kill people with swords, Roy. SWORDS.”
Roy had been trying NOT to look at the sheathed rapier-like weapon, multiple daggers, and the locally-made handguns strapped to Rick’s native combat-webbing. He did notice the elaborate bling on the harness.
“What’s with all the shiny?”
“Wages of being a jeddak in the Heliumatic Navy.”
“Oh, I really want to hear this all. And I advise you to tell it all to Gloval; no holding back for the welcome-back bar crawl.”
“Aw shucks.”

Have read the novels (well, in today's magnum-opuses, more like novellas) and seen the movie.
-sigh-
The movie had SOOOOO much potential but they 1) tried cramming in material from book 6 onwards, into the first intro story! :badbad:
2) Even with the blue-blood spatter and dismemberments, it still had Disney smeared all over it.

That being said; DAMN! THIS latest X-over rawked hardcore and I can actually see it being done as a full-length fan-fic OR even RP'd out.

...and POOR POOR Ben. NO one should be subjected to... "THE MINMEI!"

Well, remember, I'd outlined the Mars Base Sara sequence before and this picked up after Lisa got swipped from Riber's old dorm by a giant white ape, then 'rescued' by Zodangan scouts, who had doubtlessly been among the many Barsoomians looting Mars Base Sara when it 'crossed over' onto Barsoom/Mars analogue.

Though I leave it open if any of the original Mars Base Sara personnel survived(I'm thinking the installation's 'phasing' is a result of an unattended alien tech experiment on the base that went out of control after the biological/radiological/whatsit weapon wiped out the original base complement...sort of like the movie 'The Quiet Earth').
The Earth in the Barsoom continua is either lifeless, not settled by humans, or is at a primitive state of development...if the latter, Gloval's not about to lead the Zentraedi to what could be the equivalent of late 1800's Earth.

And yeah, I'd LOVE to do sketches of this last scene, and what happened in the interim, appropriately PG-13'ed for worksafeness.... ;)

Alarms blared all over the ship as trooper Tychus Findlay blasted his way on to the bridge...

Tychus: (Opening his visor releasing a cloud of cigar smoke) "Well hell there ain't nobody he......"

Suddenly an organic, spiked appendage explodes from his chest and lifts him into the air.

Kallen stared. She poked. She prodded. She pulled.
The ears. The whiskers. The tail.
“YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!”
They wouldn’t come off.

“KAS-DA.”
“Shion.”
“Heard your ‘pet’ escaped.”
“Indeed.”
“She also apparently managed to set loose several of your ‘sisters’.”
“I understand you were instrumental in keeping them contained.”
“Yes, they awakened earlier than expected, but no harm done, despite their curiousity.”
“YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWW!!!”
The two looked back into the padded cell where the almost-naked redhead was streaking around, bouncing off walls, and working herself into a blurred frenzy, before finally impacting into a wall, knocking herself out, and collapsing into a twitching heap on the floor. The long tail and sharp cat ears were immediately obvious.
Shion turned accusatory eyes on the cyborg standing next to her.
“You didn’t....That’s...that’s!”
“I did not.”
“Then how?”
”We reacquired her collar signal just outside the Gateland perimeter at one of the bio-clinics in the Tokyo-3 satellite conrurals. The work had already been done. Questioning the clinic staff revealed she had come in and voluntarily submitted to the Neko Pink procedure.”
“She’s been your prisoner and ‘pet’ for the last year and the opportunity to escape she decides to go and radically alter her physiology to accommodate that rather than blitz for another dimension? That doesn’t sound right.”
“No, it does not. Though admittedly Security would have been watching the Gates for just such an escape attempt.”
“And how’d she pay for it anyway? The procedure’s not cheap.”
“The mystery deepens. The clinic records show she paid for it using credit cards in the name of LeLouche Lamperouge. Possibly out of the ransom that was paid for Dana Sterling.”
“Indeed. Well, she might have acquired Lamperouge’s credit cards when she was still close to him, but after a year, you’d think he’d have cancelled them.”
“Most strange. And if she had them, where could she have hidden them? Between Security and my own actions, she could not have hidden anything useful to an escape. We must therefore assume somebody ELSE with access to the accounts in question and to the necessary resources to facilitate her escape, however temporary, is behind this.”

CC breathed a sigh of relief as she cleared the last Dimensional Port checkpoint and crossed the ‘no man’s land’ into sovereign Japanese territory, ignoring the glares of both the Uegie Gate-Guards and the Japanese GateWatch as they stared at each other, , ignoring in their turn the thin trickle of traffic in both directions from the terrestrial Dimensional Gate. Her mission was a success. It had not perhaps been as she originally planned, but the end results were still most satisfactory. Kallen Stadtfeld would no longer be a factor in the future of post-Britannia Earth.

She tracked down Kallen’s whereabouts to a military medical facility in Tokyo-3, apparently in for an annual physical at the behest of her ‘owner’. Careful infiltration had gotten her inside and CC found LeLouche’s former associate hiding in a locked storage room, cowering naked(apparently she’d managed her own temporary escape) while a dozen newly-activated female androids were closing in on her, apparently intend on petting.

It had been a simple matter to gain Kallen’s trust with the offer of clothing, however scanty(a hospital gown), and help in escaping. The HARD part had been escaping from those androids, but she’d managed to do so, though she doubted she would be able to sleep at night without nightmares. In all her centuries of existance, she’d not ever encountered anything like those androids, and seeing their attention turn to her had almost sent her fleeing, and forget Kallen!
After that, it had been simplicity itself to geass Kallen, and march her into the clinic CC had spotted earlier while scouting the Dimensional Travel hub. Generous previous application of the mind control trick at the bio-mod shoppe had greatly facilitated her second visit with Kallen in tow, eased her past the patient check-in and the final permission signings, and finally into the operating room where the mind-zombed Kallen had dropped her smock and climbed up onto the procedure table to be anesthetized. After that, under the excuse of leaving her ‘friend’s’ side to go attend to other business for the moment, CC had slipped away, leaving the ex-Black Knight to the tender mercies of the gene-surgeons. She was tempted to have stayed to spy and see the results of her little prank, but she knew that UEsG security would be responding to the escape of the red-headed convict. In fact, she COUNTED on it. It would have been quite amusing to see Kallen, with her new ‘additions’, hauled back into custody.

CC found herself doing a hop and a skip in her step as she arranged transport from the Gate-island back to mainland Japan. What a good day’s work!

In a laboratory-holding area back in Tokyo-3, several sets of red eyes flicked open. Wireless modem connections openned, and a silent conversation was initiated. Their collective memory remembered the ‘kitty’ that had greeted them upon their unscheduled activation. That one had been remembered from the Alpha’s downloads. But they had a new factor in their shared experience. The green-haired one that had appeared and taken the ‘kitty’ away. Yes, that one intrigued. They would remember her....
