Nova may have left out certain details.

As for the GMP's reaction, their going after someone who appears to have somehow overpowered Desdemona, this is just their initial response until they have more concrete data. They'll also be sending ESWAT to arrest Gendo, just in case.

Early morning, birds tweeting, sun shining, Gendo stretches, puts on his housecoat and scraches himself as he goes down stairs for the paper.

He opens the door to find himself facing a dozen heavily armed Landmates...

Suddenly a breeze blows his housecoat open...

Deunan: "HE'S FLASHING ME! FIRE! FIRE!"

Obviously needing computer-assisted targeting to make the critical Groin Shot....you just can't use manual aiming to hit a target that small.

Nova sat in Castle's living room and pondered ... Where could Castle have taken her daughter.

Suddenly Castle came out of his bedroom.

Castle: "Miss Satori-Brown? What brings you here?"

Nova: "Alright Castle! What's your game!?! :-x Where's my daug..."

Desdemona: (Wearing Castle's bathrobe) "Hi Mom! What's up?"

Nova: (Left eye twitching) "Umm ... Dear heart ... Could you wait in the other room? And be a darling and crank the stereo up to max ... Thank you." :x

Gendo smiled the smile of the Bastard King as he left the cell where his chained-up son slept the uneasy sleep of the drugged. Another loose end nipped and tied off, and the last of them. Even as a time traveller, his son would not interfere with his scenario. All the ripples his son’s actions had made were all neutralized; the Langely girl was prepped and ready for her drugged rampage, Akagi and Kitsuragi were dead, and the next Rei clone, wiped of outside influence, awaited to accompany him to Lillith. Nothing could interfere with his Scenario now.
At least, that’s what he thought until the door opened and he found himself looking at a solid wall of reinforced concrete where there should have been a hallway leading to Terminal Dogma.
Clearly his son had confederates not yet taken care of, ones still capable of annoying, but inconsequential, ploys like this. No matter; Gendo had an excellent access tool in the form of an AT-Field, obedient to his will, near at hand.
“...urk...”
He turned just in time to see the dart hit Rei IV in the neck, just before a large plastic sac slithered down over her body and cinched skin-tight before going white with frost. The flash-frozen clone was still in the process of falling over when the lights all went out. Gendo had barely enough time to angrily wonder who ELSE the incompetents in Section 3 had missed wihen the train hit him.

“Foxhound Alpha to Foxclaw Three, Beardboy is bagged. Repeat, Beardboy is bagged.”

“Mike-Tom-One here, Purple Queen and Peroxide Blonde recovered. Dead as doornails but still viable. Bringing them in on ice. Warm up the reconstruction tubes for resurrection.”

“Overcast Alpha to Hurricanes. You are go to nuke the Big Pigeons. Weapons free. Good hunting.”

Setsuna looked over from the sanitorium’s solarium bay window where she was exchanging foot massages(i.e. massages WITH feet, not OF feet) with her red-headed fellow inmate, over to where several nurses were wheeling a gurney into an unoccupied room.
“Another day, another Rei.”

“We had an accident with the reconstruction chambers.”
“Oh?”
“Accidental fusion of Zentraedi DNA into the Katsuragi woman during her post-mortem genetic revival and reconstruction.”
“Don’t tell me...”
“Fortunately we had the big chambers hooked up. Doc sez reversal should be easy enough once she’s stabilized, but until then...”
“Very well, see if we can’t borrow something for her from Klan Klein’s closet until the doctor clears her for micronization..”

Gendo Ikari glared at the the crowd of familiar faces around him. They all glared back.
“Forgot to take dimensional travellers into account, did you?” Ikari Gendo snarled.
“Shut up!” Ikati Gendo bit back.
“My Scenario would have worked if not for those meddlers!” Ikari Gendo declared.
“Not so clever, are you?” Ikari Gendo sneered.
“Neither are you!” Ikari Gendo counter-challenged.
“-And today we present to the lovers of bloody justice our first Running of the Gendos! At the mark, ready...set...””
And with that all argument was forgotten as the gate well open, the flamethrowers at the back openned up, and a flood of identical bearded men scurried out to whatever awaited them beyond.

I'd reread the short fanfic 'Better Luck Next Time' where Shinji Timeloops back in the series, attempts to change things for the better, and Gendo hoses him because he's just such a PARANOID bastard that he actually considered such a possibility. I believe we've trashed that particular Gendo before, but hey, somewhere, I'm sure, he tried again.
And he still hasn't gotten the hang of facing an enemy who can fill ALL the corridors to Terminal Dogma with megadamage reinforced concrete.

Meanwhile, in yet another Evangelion timeline whomped by the UEsG.....

The GMP officer in charge of the commando unit watched as the still-semiconscious Ryoji Kaji was dragged out of the room. In spite of the copious amount of dried blood on the room’s floor, the strike team medic assured him the man would survive. The GMP lieutenant was frankly amazed; that amount of blood loss was usually equated with massive firearms trauma or the nastier Ebola strains, not sinus bleeding.
However, with the door cutting off the spy’s disturbed giggling, the strike team officer had to turn to the more matter at hand.
“Okay, critical decision time. What are we going to do about ALL these Katsuragis?”
His gesture at the massive LCL tank full of floating naked Misato Katsuragi clones was more of an emphasis of a rhetorical question than anything else. Nevertheless, he got answers, of a sort.
“Lock down all breweries and motorpools in a hundred mile radius?”
“Make that TWO hundred mile radius.”
“Hide all the booze?”
“Maybe like they do with the Ayanami clones? Adopt them out?”
“..oh, really? Seriously, beyond fanboys, who’s going to adopt a Misato?”
“Beer breweries? NASCAR?”
“That would be a LOSS for them, ON TOP of living expenses!”
“Well, we gotta do SOMETHING with them!”
“...that’s it...I’m booting this one upstairs. This is beyond my pay grade.”

Elsewhere in the megaverse, three ex-Pilots got a SERIOUS case of the shakes.

"it isn't like there are many good ones. working for them the clones would be in a controlled environment, would get training to be useful, and it isn't like they'd be unused to the Katsuragi type mindset."
"still seems like there ought to be something better."
"plus the clones would be aboard ships able to control the clone's drinking."

Although Leona Ozaki takes the prize for that...in the manga she actually CLIMBS Bonaparte up between two buildings close together using her tank's treads.

True, though in my case I was thinking more about the one's weren't a total load. (ie; sound plossible.)

You know; Firing a Panzerfaust type weapon out the open breach of your main gun to take out another tank?

Clearing a path through an anti-personnel mine field by driving a tank through it?

The Belt Ladened Turbine (a Tiger (P) popping a wheelie and pulling away at 60 mph)?

Drifting in a tank?

etc.

As you see, probably not on topic in these forums.

Yeah, well, drifting's a given in a Hovertank.
But remember, the Tactical Corp of Southern Cross? They still use tread-layer APCs, so many Dumb Tank tricks are applicable to them, seeing as they might feel a bit competitive with those highasses in the ATAC.

I suppose they could really tic them off by stating that since the Hovertank has no turret, it's more accurately a Tank Destroyer or Self-Propelled Gun.

don't forget we've also got a Girls Und Panzer universe in this mess.. how many dumb tank tricks can they lay claim to?
(of course, if it's dumb and it works, it aint dumb.. so the orara girls academy team technically doesn't have 'dumb tank tricks'...)

Well,,,,,there's using your deep-fording equipped tank(with snorkle and commander's hatch extension tower) to drive out to your yacht's amchorage as an alternative to water texis(or use your submerged tank to run over somebody else's anchor and mooring).

I also included two from the Valkyria Chronicles 3 OVA. Though it turns out the one about clearing AP mines is real, the Americans did it in Desert Storm (admittedly by accident).

The one about firing an Anti-Tank Lance out the main gun, or the Belt Ladened Turbine, I'd want to see before I'd believe.

Even with a Panzerfaust, there's some backblast...you'd fill your own turret with choking propellant smoke. It gets worse with a full-blown bazooka.
Now, some French light tanks of the AMX series have rear ejection for spent shell casings...You MIGHT be able to use that same opening to vent your backblast, as long as the ejection port was in line with the breech and the gun barrel.
