of course, did they even notice the invid occupation in the first place? (aside from the slightly slower rate of resupply than normal?)

Your EBSIS may be the only ones who notice Ice Guard(provided they annex Finland and start patrolling the Arctic Circle that is).

Well, there's always copyright wars in the old East Bloc; the Baltics claim they're the TRUE EBSIS, the diehard commies assert THEY'RE the true EBSIS, up until the Baltic EBSIS starts driving the Sovietski EBSIS further east and into doing stupid things...like invading Ice Guard territory.

This can lead to some problems when BOTH encounter the IG, who are sufficiently upset dealing with the first pack of self-proclaimed EBSIS that they forgo their usual 'happy to see another face up here!' that they're not well-disposed towards the SECOND pack(who can be led by a disgruntled hardline Estonian who hates the cold and being there, mellow Latvian who's distressed by the uncouth behavior of the Ice Guard, or a vengeful Lithuanian with a grudge against Ice Guard's second-in-command.

Operation: Blazing Star

Rough Episode List

#1 - "A Messenge from Space"
In the year 2044, Earth has been liberated from the Invid, but only has a years worth of Protoculture left. A UEEF patrol fleet near Pluto is ambushed by Haydonite ships. While this is happening, on Earth, Sera, recovering from her recent pregnancy, receives a message from her mother the Regess. She and Lancer reluctantly contact UEEF Command. The shuttle carrying them to the Moon comes under attack by Shadow Drones (4+1 for each PC pilot) and a patrol (the PCs) is scrambled to intercept.

#2 - "We're Off"
Three weeks later, on Moon base, the UEEF rushes to prepare a ship, the "SS Argo". With Erdrich as the captain, a PC as the navigator, and Lancer as its tactical officer, the Argo is commissioned to travel to the Invid home world, in the Large Magellanic Cloud, with orders to retrieve a technique able to convert the Flower of Life into Protoculture. During the preparations, a PC learns, the Banshee class destroyer their brother commanded was lost near Pluto. Before the Argo can start its journey, it must counter an inbound Edgeworth–Kuiper asteroid targeted at the Earth. (PC Veritech pilots get recruited into Mauve squadron)

#3 - "Jupiter Base"
On Haydonite occupied Pluto, Gauz suggests sending out a fleet after the Argo. Doz turns down the suggestion, preferring to see what the Argo does before attempting anything. After making an interrupted space fold, the Argo's main engine malfunctions, so Captain Erdrich orders the Argo to land on a floating continent orbiting Jupiter, to make repairs. On the floating continent, Captain Erdrich orders an away team (the PCs) to go out and collect samples from the continent. After analyzing some of the plant samples collected, XO Dr. Sanjay Dravid discovers that the floating continent is artificially made by the Haydonites as a Bio-weapons research lab. Meanwhile Eta, commander of the Haydonite base on the floating continent, gets a message from Gauz, ordering her to dispatch a combat fleet of four ships (3 Fantoma and 1 Omicron class) to attack the Argo. If the Argo destroys three of the four attacking ships, they then take off from the continent. Erdrich orders Lancer to test fire the Fold Gun at the floating continent. Nobody is certain of what would result. Lancer fires the gun, destroying the entire continent. Some of the crew is thrilled at the power of the weapon, but Erdrich forbears that the Argo's weaponry is for self-defence only, questioning whether they have done the right thing.

#4 - "Grave on the Ice"
When the Argo lands on the Saturnian moon of Enceladus to mine ore needed to repair the Reflex Furnace and investigate an automated distress call. The PCs, accompanied by radar operator [Name] and a medic, encounter the remains of a crashed Banshee. They are ambushed by Biodraedi and must fight to escape. In the chaos of battle, a PC scrounges up a pistol which upon closer inspection finds it to be his/her brother's. If they uncover the vessel's exterior markings, they find its the Yukikaze, the brother’s ship. Unable to find any further clue about brother's whereabouts, they plant the Yukikaze's memorial marker and continue their quest.

#5 - "The Gun on Dwarf Planet Zero
Before leaving the Solar System, the Argo launches an attack to destroy the Haydonite facilities on Pluto to stop their bombardment of Earth with asteroids. However, the ship ends up falling for a surprise attack from the enemy's secret weapon, and the crew of Argo sends Mauve squadron to find the Haydonite base.

#6 - "The Fall of Tarterus"
Having deceived the Haydonites into believing that the Argo was destroyed for sure, the ship takes the opportunity to stage a counterattack after the PCs find the location of the main Haydonite base.

#7 - "Crossing the Line"
With the Haydonite attacks on Earth stopped, the Argo prepares to leave the Solar System after giving to the crew members a last chance to contact their relatives they left behind and a crossing the Heliosphere party. The last calls are often upsetting to the crew.

#8 - "Mouse Trap"
An operation staged by the Haydonite Awareness, forces the Argo to navigate too close to a star in a desperate attempt to escape, manoeuvring around solar flares that can instantly destroy the ship while being pursued by Doz who is seeking redemption for the destruction of his base on Pluto.

#9 - "Do These Machines Dream of Anything?"
One of the Biodraedi retrieved by the Argo on Enceladus is reassembled and activated in an attempt to learn more about their enemies. One of the PCs develops a rapport with it. As the Biodraedi secretly explores its surrounding medium, it encounters a mysterious entity. The PC manages to befriend the Biodraedi which then reveals its meeting with the shipboard entity. However, when the Biodraedi escapes its confinement, the rest of the PCs must scramble to search for it.

#10 - "Becalmed"
The Argo falls into a dimensional rift and finds itself unable to escape. A Quiltra Draenitzs that is also trapped there approaches the Argo and both crews come to a temporary ceasefire while they work together to escape. Centurian Melda, a member of the Children of Zor fleet, remains on the Argo as part of the agreement. After the Argo escapes the dimensional rift, the Haydonites attack, destroying the CoZ ship and forcing the Argo to flee. Melda is now trapped on the Argo.

#11 - "Face of the New Enemy"
Melda, a CoZ mecha pilot under the custody of Argo, is given a medical examination by Dr. [Name] and is found to be a pure blooded, unmodified Tirolian. She claims that the goal of the Children of Zor is to retrieve the Protoculture Matrix that they feel the Earthlings have stolen. At the end, Melda is given four days of food supplies and leaves the ship on friendly terms.

#12 - "The Space Spartan"
General Domel of the Children of Zor, is called upon by Dessler and assigned to the Milky Way with orders to stop the Argo. As the Argo approaches the edge of the galaxy, the crew comes under attack by a cloaked warship.

#13 – "Hunter and Prey"
Taking shelter in the debris ring of a proto-star, the crew of the Argo discover the enemy's ability to cloak their vessel and the PCs come up with countermeasures against them.

#14 - "The Siren’s Song"
Returning from a reconnaissance mission, the PCs find a drifting Argo with the rest of the crew missing. As the PCs look for clues about what happened, they must face an enemy that can use their own memories against them, assisted by an unexpected ally.

#15 - "The Duel"
General Domel devises a scheme to trap the Argo in the midst of a massive fleet of CoZ warships.

#16 - "Out of the Shadows"
Badly damaged and in need of provisions, the Argo lands on a lush, fertile planet. As a ground team makes a startling discovery, there are doubts if the ship still has a chance to complete its journey in time and the PCs and crew awaken a terrifying new theat. In the meantime, a group of infiltrators from the Glorie colony, make their move to try and seize the ship.

#17 - "Past Lives"
With the aid of a captured Drak’lith device, the PCs, [Name] and Dravid explore the control center of an abandoned fold gateway created by an ancient civilisation under CoZ control. In the midst of a deadly undertaking, Dravid unveils a surprise about his close friendship with PC's late brother.

#18 - "Black Rainbow"
Using the newly reactivated fold gateway, and a recovered CoZ Gilgimesh Type II, one of the PCs scouts the intended shortcut to the halfway point at planet Balun. Once there they discover a vast fleet of over 10,000 CoZ ships. However, Erdrich declares that the Argo must fight its way through the enemy's massive armada if they want to reach the Large Magellanic Cloud in time.

#19 - "Round Two"
As the Argo penetrates the Large Magellanic Cloud, Domel engages in a battle of wits with Erdrich as he prepares a special attack force to stop the UEEF vessel once and for all.

#20 - "Under a Bloody Neutron Sun"
Domel's task force engages the Argo in a nebula dubbed the Rainbow Star Cluster. During a fierce battle in which the Argo is heavily damaged and its Fold Gun disabled, it is infiltrated by CoZ operatives tasked to kidnap Sera, capturing one of the PCs instead.

#21 - "Gulag"
The PC who happens to look a lot like Sera, is taken to a CoZ prison colony called Leptopoda. The Argo is not far behind, its crew unknowingly seeking to resupply and repair. During a recon mission, the PCs and several others are also taken prisoner just before an old acquaintance foments a riot.

#22 - "The Goal is in Sight"
Erdrich's condition takes a turn for the worse as the rest of the crew learn that the Invid homeworld and the CoZ colony world are situated in the same star system. Meanwhile, despite knowing that the PC is not Sera, Dessler takes advantage of their resemblance to rally his fellow Tirolians in an attempt to force a concession from the Regess. As the Argo is about to reach their destination, the ship is targeted by an unknown weapon.

#23 - "The War of Ancient Powers"
After being almost destroyed by Dessler’s massive fold cannon, Erdrich orders the Argo to launch an offensive at the CoZ capital and Dessler escapes to his space fortress, The "Blade of Ages" in a ship with the PC on board. Dessler then drops a part of the fortress on the capital in an attempt to vanquish the Argo while sacrificing his own people and while the rest of the crew engage it, the PCs depart to rescue their friend by themselves.

#24 - "The Faraway Promise"
With Dessler apparently dead and the CoZ ceasing their hostilities, the Argo at last reaches the Invid homeworld, but the Regess is in doubt about providing the assistance she promised upon seeing that the humans used an ancient weapon of mass destruction. After coming with a decision, The Regess reveals to the PC the ultimate fate of his/her brother as the Argo prepares itself for the long journey back to Earth.

OVA – “Ark of the Stars
During its long return voyage home from the Invid homeworld, the Argo is confronted by a hostile alien fleet just outside the Large Magellanic Cloud that identifies itself as Drak’lith. The Drak’lith's leader, Goran, orders the immediate surrender of the UEEF vessel. Argo folds to safety, but finds itself lost within a strange and unknown realm, where it discovers a planet and an unexpected ship. Dagam tracks Argo to this mysterious place--the Drak’lith's true prize all along.

#25 - "Let This Be Our Final Battlefield"
Carrying the technique, the Argo is on its way back to Earth when Dessler, who was presumed dead, appears for a final confrontation.

#26 - "Memories of the Blue Planet"
The Argo is on the last legs of their journey through outer space. However, the heartbroken PCs have little to celebrate as one of the PCs did not survive from the wounds she suffered in the last battle. While witnessing their suffering, the Regess appears next to them to create a miracle.

Yeah, its a place holder while I try to find some time to come up with something. But I do want to try and keep it as close to the series as possible and still be ROBOTECH.

Ideally each episode is going to get a rewrite with a Hook, Line and Sinker in it's own entry.

Episode #1 - "A Messenge from Space"

Prelude: In the year 2044, Earth has been liberated from the Invid, but only has a years worth of Protoculture left. Shortly after the Archangel departs on its search for the SDF-3, a UEEF patrol fleet near Pluto is ambushed by Haydonite ships. While this is happening, on Earth, a pregnant Sera, receives a message from her mother the Regess. She and Lancer reluctantly contact UEEF Command. Shortly afterward, the pair of them are on a shuttle to Moon Base ALuCE.

Hook: Some of the PCs are aboard the same shuttle, as passengers, crew, etc. depending on character type (ie; ground military and intelligence types might be part of a security detail to watch Sera. Some pilot PCs are part of a routine patrol in the same area.

Line: While the higher-ups in the UEEF are willing to give Sera the benefit of the doubt, especially after Ariel's actions during The Shadow Chronicles, the UEG has absolutely on faith in anything from the Invid, leading to some tension between the UEEF and GMP personnel aboard the shuttle.

Sinker: The shuttle carrying them to the Moon comes under attack by Shadow Drones (4, +1 for each PC pilot) and the PCs patrol is scrambled to intercept.

Episode #2 - "We're Off"

Three weeks later, on Moon base, the UEEF rushes to prepare a ship, the "SS Argo". With Captain Marie Erdrich, a veteran Exploration Corps officer, as the captain, Sera as their Invid expert and Lancer as its tactical officer. The Argo is commissioned to travel to the Invid home world, in the Large Magellanic Cloud, with orders to retrieve a technique able to convert the Flower of Life into Protoculture.

Hook: The PC's are transferred, recruited or drafted into the crew of the Argo in various positions depending on character type. (ie; PC Veritech pilots get recruited into Mauve squadron).

Line: Rushing to ready the ship, there are some tensions between the crew (Earth-born vs Space-born, UEEF vs UEG, old-timers vs young) etc. Moreover there are people who question whether or not we should trust the Invid, and question having an Invid (Sera) and an Invid sympathizer (Lancer) on board. Also it's possible that one or more of the PCs may have had family and friends in the fleet that was ambushed near Pluto.

Sinker: The Haydonites learn about the Argo being prepped for a mission, but not what the mission is, and launch an Edgeworth–Kuiper asteroid targeted at Moon Base ALuCE. The crew is forced to rush in order to get the Argo ready in time to intercept it.

#3 - "Jupiter Base"

On Haydonite occupied Pluto, Gauz suggests sending out a fleet after the Argo. Doz turns down the suggestion, preferring to see what the Argo does before attempting anything. Meanwhile, after passing Mars base, the crew of the Argo drive. After making an interrupted space fold, the Argo's main engine malfunctions and they end up falling into Jupiter's upper atmosphere. There, they discover Macross Island, floating stable in the atmosphere and Captain Erdrich orders the Argo to land in order to make repairs.

Hook:On Macross Island, Captain Erdrich orders an away team (the PCs) to go out and collect samples from the continent.

Line: After analyzing some of the plant samples collected, the XO, Dr. Sanjay Dravid discovers that the island has been converted by the Haydonites into a Bio-weapons research lab.

Sinker: Meanwhile Eta, commander of the Haydonite base on Macross Island, gets a message from Gauz, ordering her to dispatch her combat fleet of four ships (3 Fantoma and 1 Omicron class) to attack the Argo. With the Argo running on reserve power, Erdrich scrambles the ship's mecha (including any PC pilots), supported by the 40 cm cannons, to fend them off until repairs are completed.

Once the main engines are back on line the Argo lifts off and Erdrich orders Lancer to test fire the Fold Gun at the Haydonite base. Nobody is certain of what will result. Lancer fires the gun, destroying the entire island. Some of the crew is thrilled at the power of the weapon, but others including the Captain question whether they have done the right thing by creating such a weapon.

#4 - "Grave on the Ice"

Hook: The Argo is forced to land on the Saturnian moon of Enceladus in order to mine ore needed to repair the Reflex Furnace. While there they pick up an automated distress call on UEEF/ASC frequency. The PCs are sent to investigate and find the remains of a crashed Banshee.

Line: While they are investigating the wreck, they and the Argo, are attacked by machine soldiers operating from an unknown type of scout cruiser (I'm using the Biodraedi operating a Marduk Scout Cruiser) and must fight to avoid capture.

Sinker: In the aftermath of the battle, after defeating the Biodraedi, the PCs discover that the wreck is the Yukikaze, the ship commanded by the sibling of one of the PCs. Unable to find any survivors, they plant a memorial marker and continue their quest.

Hook: Before leaving the Solar System, Captain Erdrich decides to launch an attack to destroy the Haydonite facilities on Pluto to stop their bombardment of Earth with asteroids.

Line: Not wishing to destroy Pluto, the plan is for the Argo to act as a decoy while Mauve squadron swings around Pluto's two moons (Nix and Charon) in order to go down search for the Haydonite base.

Sinker: However, the ship ends up falling for a surprise attack from the enemy's secret weapon. A massive energy cannon that can hit them from seemingly anywhere around Pluto. Badly damaged, the Argo sinks below Pluto's icy surface.

"Where did that ship go? Our scanners are not working properly!"
"Fool! Use your optical sensors! A ship of that mass must radiate heat! It must be melting the frozen gases around this planet-"
"Dwarf Planet."
"-pardon?"
"This celestial body is classed as a dwarf planet, not a planet."
"...."
"Just supplying correct information."
"...whatever. ANYWAY, its radiating heat must be causing a veritable HURRICANE of subliminating gas! Look for the biggest GEYSER on this ice globe and we find the protoculture-addicts' ship! Surely you can follow that simple an order!"

"You know, I really don't like the veritable miles-high signpost we got steaming up off our ship saying 'COME LOOK HERE FOR HUMANS!'. I want Gnome Company to use their Condors to drop some of our spare heating units in a pattern away from the ship, just to confuse the issue."

#6 - "The Fall of Tarterus"

Hook: Having deceived the Haydonites into believing that the Argo was sunk, the crew takes the opportunity to make repairs.

Line: Mauve Squadron splits up to investigate various heat sources as possible Haydonite base locations, meanwhile the crew of the Argo identify the relay satellites that the Haydonites are using to aim their cannon. Just as they come up with a plan, one of the Mauve squadron patrols spots a facility and comes under attack by it's automated defenses.

Sinker: From his base, hidden under a Shadow Cloak, Doz launches fighters to intercept the Mauve pilots, just as the PC's are passing by. The Argo surfaces to attack.

#7 - "Crossing the Line"

Hook: With the Haydonite attacks on Earth stopped for the time being. The crew of the Argo prepares to leave the Solar System.

Line: After making needed repairs. The captain decides to hold a "Crossing the Heliosphere" party, and to give the crew members a last chance to contact their relatives they left behind.

Sinker: The last calls are often upsetting to the crew and some foreshadow a conspiracy aboard ship.

If Voyager I can make it, I don't think an armoured warship would have too many problems.

Voyager hasn't quite made it to the bow shock proper, which will be another 20-30 years, but no, I don't expect it will have any problems getting through that(aside from maybe a miniscule loss in forward momentum owing to the interstellar wind hitting full force.

#8 - "Mouse Trap"

Hook: The Argo arrives in the Gliese 581 system. There is some argument over wither or not they should delay transiting the system to preform a survey for habitable worlds. However, an encounter with an unnaturally powerful plasma filament brings everyone's attention back to the mission at hand.

Line: While threading the plasma pathways, the players come under attack by Doz's Omicron class ship and forced to flee as he, in an operation staged by the Haydonite Awareness, launches a deadly nano-cloud at the Argo.

Sinker: The captain orders the crew to take the Argo dangerously close to the sun in order to destroy the nano-cloud. Maneuvering around solar flares that can instantly destroy the ship, the crew again comes under attack by Doz who is seeking redemption for the destruction of his base on Pluto.
