Another idea that is parallel in concept, is pre-cataclysm suits have integral self-repair systems simmilar the the nanite based ones described in the 'Bionics Sourcebook', but without a limitation on uses. PROVIDED that the pilot is able to scrounge enough battle-field / ruins salvage to "feed the beast" when nano-repair stocks run dry.
As for the ammo? Yeah; at least an Armourer skill and basic robot-repair tool kit w/ inbuilt "expert system" to talk the pilot through cranking out their ammo... one shell at a time.

If you go by original RMB book ammo levels 1000 rounds of GB ammo is going to last a LONG time and the rounds are basically just a bunch of metal slugs in a fletchette package so not the most complex thing to make. no weird propellents required.

My solution:

1. Glitterboys run on a fusion engine (why aren't most Rifts power sources fusion anyway?).

2. Hand to Hand Combat Elite: Glitterboy (Descendant) includes an understanding of the technical aspects of the design and how to repair and maintain the armor.

3. The original Glitterboys issued to NEMA included an Armorer's kit that, in effect, allows the pilot to fabricate small components of the armor. To an inexperienced pilot that doesn't know any better, this kit only appears to enable the creation of ammunition or the installation of manufactured parts, but the user interface for the "munitions creation and repair kit" will open up a fabrication function if the proper codes (handed down generation upon generation and secret outside the select group of Glitterboys) are input into the device.

Since it is integral to the suit (like the Pilot support systems), it is small and cannot be removed. As such, it takes a great deal of time to fabricate parts and armor, but over the course of generations, there is a lot of time to generate parts and armor.
